I'm going to resist the urge to buy it out of brand loyalty. The reviews are too mixed. I'll wait until you guys say more about it before making a decision one way or the other. Or I'll just Gamefly it and see if I like it enough to buy. After reading a bunch of reviews on it I'm not holding out much hope. Very disappointing.

Makes me sad Capcom could fuck up like that (again, and again, and again). I need to play it myself to be sure, but I'm certainly not day 1 eager anymore.

Generally I just think Capcom is retarded and on its way out, they have so many great series that they constantly manage to fuck up I'm surprised they're even still in business.

Picked it up this morning because I played the other games, couldn't write this one off so easily and it's honestly not that bad. It's definitely not survival horror or scary but it's pretty fun. The controls were fine, the camera really sucks in tight spaces but my only real problem was with the constant QTEs that trigger every time an enemy grapples you. The atmosphere is great and draws you in. It isn't the way I envisioned the series would evolve but it definitely doesn't deserve the amount of hate it's getting. If you liked 5, you'll probably like 6.

Also, no one in this game can fucking drive, god damn.

I don't pay attention to the "not scary" criticism. RE hasn't been scary in a long time. It's time people just got over it already.

what are people's opinions on the co-op for 6? It's so hard to find offline co-op games for hubby and I to play, and we loved co-oping in re5. I was really looking forward to this.

I agree with kuya on the scary bit. Doesn't have to be scary to be fun.

Games like Call of Duty XXIV get 9.5/10 while games like Final Fantasy get 5/10. Think I'll get it myself instead of letting other people from meathead media sites dictate what I buy based on their opinions. A remake of RE2 would be amazing, just keep the Call of Duty shit out of it please and make it survival horror to the fullest.

Final Fantasy XI with a 8.0 and a lame sports game NBA2k13 gets 9.1 from IGN, really? It's not just recent FF's (which I disagree on them sucking, they were good if you're referring to 12/13.) They are incredibly biased towards the general meathead population that plays video games like Call of Duty and sports/racing games that are lame and the same shit in every game. Golly gee a new racing game, this one is so much better than the last because it has different colored cars!

Point is, I don't trust a majority of reviews and I'll try it out for myself or watch actual footage of the game like on youtube to decide for myself.

ffxi only got an 8.0? I remember all the game reviewers when previewing it were like humping their monitors, and that was just from wandering around sandoria.

At least scores on CoD and FF are normally close between different publications, RE6 is all over the map ranging from best game of the season to worst game ever made in the history of video games, in truth it's most likely in a mid way point between the two. I'm sure there's fun to be had, and from what I've seen there are also pants on head moments as well. The thing is for $60 I'm not looking for a "meh it's ok" experience with the winter flood of games it's not going to be hard to find something else to hold more value, I'm just sad that I'm passing on a series that I use to love so much.

Dude, you can't compare an mmorpg with an annual sports/racing game. Completely different criteria. And if you really want to discuss it FFXI should have gotten no higher than a 7.0. Compared to other mmo's out there that came out around the same time(most notably WoW) FFXI had a horrendous learning curve. An alienated customer base. Outdated graphics even when it was new(PS2 obviously.) Horribly clunky interfaces. I can go on. It was only through the loyalty of SE & FF fans that XI was able to be a success and continue as it does today. You're letting your fanboy glasses blind you to the fact that games are judged differently. FFXII was decent. XIII & XIII-2 were shit.

Read the reviews they are all over the spectrum. Which flat out shoots down your comments about them being "incredibly biased" towards the meathead population. If that were the case they would all be echoing the same thing.
