So far just crit, and firearm skills.
So far just crit, and firearm skills.
This may be a coincidence, but I seemed to acquire a ton more skill points(via drops) with the Item Drop Rate skill active. I was kind of shocked when I reached the end of the chapter and saw my skill point balance, as I didn't normally get so many from clearing a single chapter.
Just finished Chris' campaign, and I don't think that's one I'll be interested in ever replaying... did have quite the chuckle at the name of the achievement that you get for clearing it, though.
I really wish they would have elaborated a little bit more on his past since RE5, I felt his history was a little unresolved and unsettling.
Im actually really enjoying the game so far tbh
I haven't played the others, but I agree that Chris's campaign feels a little bland. Gameplay is fun, but I hope the other stories have more substance. And it's quite confusing, first you're in a city, then you're in the past, then you're suddenly in a boat, then on an oil platform simply because Leon asked you to. Feels like they just threw areas in there and try explaining why you're there with a storyline consisting of little more than "Because I said so".
Also, I fucking hate those immortal resurrecting enemies. Had to run around the boat for a fucking hour looking for a door that was hidden in a small area that was pitch black even with brightness turned up to the highest. Bastards damn near killed me and had me running around on one health because I had 5 upper bodies, 5 lower bodies and, what? 10? Hands running after me wherever I went.
Oh man,

Please, please, please...
So I assume there is no point playing this if I haven't played previous installments, right? >.>
This is the first time I've actually been intrigued by this series, mainly by how good the gameplay looked in vids they released this past month.
I still can't believe they went with the Giraffe blowjob cover... good fucking god. Yeah spider webs, totally all about RE. I know it's just a cover but considering all the CG shit they use, they could have just as easily mocked up something like the movie posters or RE5, anything but that fucking awful 6 being in the dead center gigantic right on the cover of a game you all paid full price for.
Then again, that IGN logo FAIL on the cover they did for Okami on Wii is probably still the worst offender, how fucking lazy is Capcom these days?
I guess my expectations were in a FFXI mindset, where Treasure Hunter doesn't give you additional experience or gil, so I was only expecting that it would increase ammo drops in general a little bit.
With the chapters of RE6 also being so long in comparison to the chapters of RE5, I also kind of got the impression that Capcom doesn't want us to be "farming" the chapters for skill points the way we(I?) farmed RE5 chapters for money so I could unlock weapon upgrades.
So I kind of felt they wanted to make acquiring skill points more challenging and was just a little surprised that Item Drop Rate increases the skill point drops, is all
The little segments when you cross games with someone else is baller. Just started Chris' campaign and shit has been kinda frustrating. Feel like the A.I isn't as smart as with Leon's partner but I only just finished the first chapter so we'll see.
Beat all the campaigns, game really isn't all that bad, I quite enjoyed it. Too bad there're only 3 Mercenaries mode stages so far.
Yeah same here, I beat them all as well and had fun during all of it.
As far as the mercenaries missions go, I am surprised as well at only 3 default stages. There are 3 more counting the pre-order DLC stages depending on where the pre order came from (got mine as Gamestop so Catacombs) If it wasnt for that I would have probably just got the digital download. I don't see why each place had a different stage though they should have just had 5 default maps and one stage for pre-order. The same stage from everywhere. I don't really see the reasoning unless they were just trying to get people to buy it from all 3 places and have 3 copies of the game.
Also has there been any word that anyone knows of about any kind of Versus mode? I know RE5 had it but it was released as DLC like a month after the game released. I kind of expected it to be in RE6 automatically even though I didn't actually read about it anywhere I just assumed which was stupid of me I guess. I love those modes for some reason and hope they add something like that to 6.
Capcom has announced three new gameplay modes coming to Resident Evil 6 as post-launch downloadable content:
Survivors Mode will let players respawn as enemies when they’re killed and attack humans. Killing two characters will allow players to respawn as a human, and the last man or team standing wins.
Predator Mode has one player take the role of the Ustanak, a “fearsome B.O.W.” that other players will have to try to kill. Players will have to try to kill the Ustanak before time runs out, “or at least survive until the end of the session.”
Siege Mode will have two teams (one human, one enemy) and a single non-playable character. The human team will be tasked with protecting the NPC, while the other team will try to kill them. If the NPC is still alive when the game ends, the human team wins.
XBox timed exclusive.
Just finished Chris's campaign. Got a little ridiculous but manly tears were had on the last chapter.
Ah nice thanks for all that info.
Another xbox exclusive thing?
I know Operation Raccoon city wasn't very popular but I put some time into that game it was another one that was fun to play with a friend and we both play on ps3. They also had an xbox only exclusive mode which was Nemesis mode (sounds a lot like Predator mode here) I never got to try it. I'm super jealous of all these exclusives but I love my ps3.
