I kind of agree. It's time to stop all the prequel stuff and move the story along into the future a bit. Not saying zombie apocalypse world or anything. But something showing that there is a progression of time would be nice.

Shouldn't having another Raccoon City incident happen in other parts of the world be a significant enough thing that it would've been at least alluded to in RE5 in a note or something? I know this is Capcom but they're relatively consistent with this series (probably one of the reasons why I keep eating up everything Resident Evil).
Also if it supposedly happens before RE5, then that means Chris and Leon, according to the story thus far, should never interact outside of Chris reading Leon's report after RE4. From what we can see in the trailer, the game right now seems to be single player (subject to change obviously), but you end up using other characters. Maybe it could be possible that you play different characters in different time periods? I kinda hope they don't bring Wesker back since honestly, everything came full circle at 5 and all the main people responsible for the virus are dead with the last one being Wesker.
If the game happens 10 years after RE5, that means Chris is getting old as fuck now (Dude's like 37 in RE5). Also I don't see them ever bringing Sheva back as much as I'd love to see her because so many people hated her for not being Jill (It's too bad RE5's story was so shallow because the big plot twist was so obvious before the game was even released).
I enjoyed co-op immensely and I probably made the most friends on PSN just playing that game on co-op so I kinda hope it makes some type of return that's not mercenaries.
from SOME SHITTY SITE it sounds like there will be multiple "campaigns" starring different leads
It's not like I'm not going to buy it day one. I just wish that the story would evolve a bit further. The series is now pretty much Leon's show after his rampant awesomeness in RE4. I liked RE5, just not as much. If they don't keep Mercenaries I'll be sad because I had a shit load of fun with that.
To the people talking about continuity (who also seem to indicate that they know this to a degree too): This is Capcom. Timelines and continuities mean nothing to them. They retcon the shit out of everything if it helps them. After all, Wesker is a popular character and he died in RE5. It'd be too cheesy for even RE to bring him back somehow now. Only solution is to go back...
I really wish Capcom wasn't one of the companies that's going fastest into the shitter. I just hope RE6 will prove wrong with on disc DLC, DLC made during main game development time and overall decline in quality.
Maybe because its a trailer but the graphics didn't look as good as 5. (It's been awhile since I've played 5 so I could be wrong.)
If it's entirely before RE5, maybe we'll see Chris punching large rocks, barrels, and cylinder blocks for training.
Chris doesn't look very RE5 buff too. Guess he trains on steroids to deal with Wesker in 5.
Day 1, Collector's Edition, etc for me, like pretty much all big RE games. It's funny cuz I was just talking about "Where is RE6!?" yesterday. Got my 3DS yesterday for Revelations demo, Revelation is pre-ordered, even RE: operation racoon city is pre ordered... Square and Capcom pass me back and forth like a used whore![]()
It might be different protagonists across different timelines. There is some debate of whether or not it's a prequel. RE4 took place in 2004. If the original took place in 1998 and this game takes place 10 years later, why isn't it mentioned at all in RE5? You'd think with something of that magnitude (president dying and all) it would be brought up. Not to mention Chris mentions Leon only by his report in RE4. If this game has them both in the same city (presumably) they will meet up. Who knows with Capcom. Their concept of timelines is about as good as nintendos.
Also; the engine is probably heavily if not all based on RE5's engine. This is not a bad thing. It is still a great looking game. More so than a lot of shit being released. It's probably got some additions to it as well. I'm assuming since the groundwork was laid out, this is how they got it out as "fast" as they have. Even though it'll be close to 3 years when it comes out. Crazy.
RE5 looked great. I'm not sure they could really push the engine too much further unless it was PS3 only
What year did RE4 take place? If that girl is Ashley, she looks like she has aged quite a bit.
But if it is Ashley, you would also have to assume the President is her father and no more than 8 years could have passed. Was Ashley's father president during the Racoon City incident?
The visuals stood out for me for some reason, not as good as I remember 5 being like. I guess the current gen has lost it's visual appeal.
I can see it being across different times. Leon looks much, much older than he was in RE4. Even if you did have a Las Plagas infection for a day, you don't look that much older in just 4 years.
lolnope Bioware tried to do that with DA2 and fucked that game up

Resident Evil: Attracting CoD fans 'the dream,' says Capcom. 'Action route makes sense'
Capcom UK's head of marketing, Dave Turner, pointed out to MCV ahead of the Resident Evil 6 reveal that action-focused Resident Evil 5 is in fact the series' biggest seller, and even revealed aspirations to attract Call of Duty players.
Asked why the series has taken a more action-focussed stance - specifically with Operation Raccoon City - Turner said:
"We've seen the popularity of Resident Evil increase massively as the series became more action oriented - Resident Evil 5 is the biggest seller in the series. So, it makes sense for us to follow this action area more fully."
He added of Operation Raccoon City: "The dream would be that the millions of Call of Duty fans that are enjoying these fast-paced online games are attracted to this Resident Evil."
For those who don't do gaming news past 10pm, Capcom released the first Resident Evil 6 trailer late last night, and initial feedback from readers has certainly been mixed.
Some CVG forum goers called the reveal "actually amazing," while others hit the comments section to express their disappointment that Resi 6 looks to be "a full on action game now".

Resident Evil 6 is out on November 20, 2012 for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
I can only hope. I really would love a scary RE. 5 was fun, but it just didn't cut it in the fear department. I am really interested in seeing what they do with the storyline... even if it does emerge more convoluted then pre-RE5. Maybe a bad guy on the level on Nemesis again? I don't know but it is interesting to think about what they will do with the antagonist.
Also Leon ftw... That is all :3
