I honestly don't see the HUNK connections (he's much older than this guy and I don't remember anything about him being immune at all) but I see plenty of connections with Albert Wesker (over the top stunts, constant injections).
Now this guy obviously isn't Albert but he's probably the Alex Wesker mentioned in Lost in Nightmares.

So according to IGN the blonde in the trailer is actually Sherry Berkin and not Ashley. Makes things a little more interesting and they also sort of confirmed, if not directly, that the guy is some kind of relative of Wesker.

HUNK being immune to the viruses is actually a long time rumor/speculation that does have evidence behind it.

However, what you say about Alex Wesker seems plausible too, since it was revealed he did survive to at least some point in RE5:Lost in Nightmares files. Although I don't see the connection with him and injections, he never had access to Uroboros that we know of or even earlier types of viruses that others tried to self-inject.

That would be interesting. I never thought we'd see her again aside from random pictures and mentions in reports.

I still don't think it's Ashley for various reasons, most of which is that she's too fucking ugly to be the blonde lol. But I guess she could've gotten a facelift between RE4 and 6.

I totally forgot about her, the last mention I remember of Sherry was one of the RE3 epilogues (Leon's iirc).

Maybe the G-virus is coming back for a reunion tour, HUNK did succeed in recovering a sample after all.

edit: wrong name, and Sherry has her own epilogue (just looked them up on youtube)

Well it definitely looks like from the trailer it's not going to be Las Plagas as the main cause of the outbreak. It would be interesting to see Sherry back in the game since it's been so long since she was even referenced. Who am I kidding, as long as Leon's in it I don't care what I'm killing or who else is in it. The man is a bad ass.

Albert had to constantly inject himself to keep the virus Birkin gave him in check, the new guy does the same and it's probably related considering that was the plan for all the Wesker children.
The only difference is that Albert had those red eyes but those were the result of his death more than anything else.

So you haven't played a Resident Evil game in 12 years so you make up stuff that you think they do or don't do that sucks?

That being said, RE hasn't ever really been much of a survival horror game. Especially after 4's overhaul. I really loved 4, but not much care for 5. I was hoping 6 would have less super powered protagonist, but I can already tell from all the jump kicks, flips and shooting and sliding from the trailer that that wont be the case.

I hope the put a female lead into this one. it looks like you play as at least 3 different people so far so It would be nice to have jill or claire back in as leads again... I really do miss having the option to pick which characters scenario to play through. Also wish barry would make a come back. chris is alright but he is no barry.

Also they need to put Josh Stone in because he is a LEGEND!

Edit - They need to bring tyrants back too. Tyrants were a huge deal for me in the original REs

fuck the haters. I love all the RE games and I really enjoyed 5, even though it wasn't classic RE, it's so fucking hard to find side-by-side co-op games that are good for my hubby and I to play together. We had a fuckton of fun getting to go through that game, so I hope they continue it.

I did hear the AI of the chick was completely shitty so I can understand people's frustration with that, I hope if anything they find a way to do both co-op and single to make both sides happy.

I'm actually playing RE5 Gold right now. I really hope they do improve AI (although I hope there are solo segments too, because its just not scary if you have someone looking out for you). Nothing pisses me off more than playing RE5 with AI and this happens: go into dying mode. Sheva: I'm coming!

And she just fucking stands there as I worm my way closer to her only to fall death. This happens way more than it should.

Oh man, I know that fucking feel. Sheva's AI in RE5 was just plain awful. Another thing I hate is that whoever plays as Sheva (or even if you play as her in single-player) has their HUD locked on the opposite side of the screen; I was so used to seeing it on the right, and then for it to appear on the left really threw me off-balance and was something I could never get used to.
