I hate you Terry Goodkind, I hate you so much

but I saw there was a new book, also about Kahlan and Richard, but in a new series and now before I read it I kinda want to go back and finish that godawful Sword of Truth series

I started reading the series long before there was a TV series and at first I didn't mind the variations on "Kahlan is literally in an impossible situation, with no way out but then Richard Deus ex Machina's it and they are reunited"

but then he wrote Pillars of Creation and for some reason he decided to dilute some Ayn Rand which was already diluted from Nietzsche and the book sounded heavy handed and preachy and so goddamn pompous and not at all inspiring like Ayn Rand was at least able to do in the Fountainhead but notsomuch in the series of lengthy droning lectures tied together by weak plot in Atlas Shrugged (cool premise, poor plot)

Who is John Galt? idk but he makes a damn good sandwich

So by the time the latest literally impossible situation rolled around, where Kahlan was missing and now THE ENTIRE WORLD DOESN'T EVEN KNOW WHO SHE IS!!!!! FACKKKKK.. I pretty much had it and put the series down

Also it was not a complete series at that time.

So noooooow, it's done and I am gonna reach my hand throw glass shards to get the key like in Saw as I read to find out how it all ends in this particular 12 book series

I really really hate you Terry Goodkind

    love Howie

You wouldn't know that though because you've demonstrably never picked up a book nor educated yourself on the matter. Let me guess, overweight housewife?

I approve of this thread as I fucking hate the series and yet have friends who are like "WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?"

Don't forget what's his fuck friend that always disappears for like 400+ pages and then magically shows up in the end.

I liked the concept behind the magic. Kahlan's magic and the notion of additive and subtractive magic. I think the first book is one of the best novels I've read.

I think the series as a whole was really good as long as you don't mind skipping pages/chapters at a time to get back to what actually matters. I probably read 2/3 of every book after the 4th ish or so.

Also, the premise that OMG EVERYONE forgot Kahlan was a bit eccentric, but I think how he ended it fit. I won't spoils it, but I thought the ending was appropriate.

Wannnit any Harry Potter tho, nosiree.

Also, I want to buy the new book, but I'm cheap sop I'll probably read it online or wait for the paperback.

Buddy have you read Sword of Shannara? Terry Brooks is more bland than plain oatmeal.
