When people refer to race in humans, they aren't talking subspecies from a biology textbook definition. If that is the only manner in which you are able to interface with the word "race", then I get why people say it's "made up" - but outside hardcore white supremicists, noone uses it that way.

Meaning is derived from usage, not agreement.

Technically my first gf was half-filipino and my 2nd gf was mexican/korean, but that was middle school, and I don't normally consider those "real" relationships. Pretty sure my relationships starting from my 4-year one were all with "pure" white girls. I voted that I was open to the idea but never had a chance, I guess indifferent might be a more accurate description though.

Well, there is a taxonomy called race, but it isn't used the same way when applied anthropologically. Races are what tentatively exist beneath subspecies in classification order when the classifier(s) cannot agree that the difference between two creatures of the supposedly-same subspecies is high enough to allot a new subspecies classification. They aren't part of a classification though, they just sort-of exist by mutual agreement. Bees are the best example of this that I can immediately think of, but biology was never my strong suit. I did like looking into how things were classified, and it is something I've done a lot of research more recently on since school in my scifi writing since I used to also be of the opinion that 'race' didn't exist.

The anthropological term 'race' isn't really used in this fashion, which is, as I understand it, where the argument over the use of the word comes from.

Edit: On original topic, I'm indifferent. If she's hot she's hot, I see trying to tell people what makes someone attractive similar to defining your favourite color - shit just is if it is.
