Understandable, for those that don't know I've been disabled from work since last June so it makes it easier for me to take care and train and animal since I'm always home. Also after the loss of our dog/13 years. I need someone else to mess with.

He's finally getting around the cage now out of his one "spot". He's also hissing less when I work in the cage adding toys/etc.

Still debating over getting him a friend, not sure if its a wise idea that way he doesn't become jealous or less focused on training.

No, but cool bird. As others have mentioned, feed it lots of fresh veggies - especially peppers! Birds don't get burned by the capsicum. Peppers are usually super cheap too! Chili Peppers are like 1.99 a pound around here, which gets something like 10-12 peppers

Ours did hop from one foot to another when he was singing, so yours just might! That'd be awesome. Is it a he or she anyways? Very cute and bright :3

If you do decide to get another, now is probably the time. They will bond to you strongly and if you get another bird they WILL get jealous, very jealous.

In my experience a second bird will make them harder to train/bond because they will see their feathered friend more than you. I had a budgie that I was able to hand tame, he loved people would fly around and land on shoulders and enjoyed specific songs. When I started a new job that had me out of the house too much he became very clingy and would not leave me alone so we decided to get him a buddy. They bonded fine after him being a solo bird for 2 years, girls are less likely to bond with girls... two boys is the best scenario. He passed away a few months ago, but his buddy is still around and has no interest in people whatsoever.

Also feed them veggies and fruit as soon as you can, because when they get older they aren't very willing to try new things and it is really good for them.
