Only thing SYN is useful for is getting Bravery/Faith as you stagger something. I usually RAV/RAV/RAV or SAB/RAV/RAV to stagger, then two rounds of RAV/RAV/SYN for Bravega and Faithga while jacking the stagger gauge up to 900 or so, then COM/COM/COM. Early in the game I used a SEN pet but now Noel makes just as good a SEN, so I'm using Chichu, Blue Choco and Yakshini in most paradigm packs.
ive been totally reliant on my Goblin Chieftain for SYN buffs and generally speaking its more than enough. only really needed to use it on bosses and for most of them without dispel it was good enough. If they had dispel or whatnot I'd save the feral link till just when the enemy is about to stagger...
I think I like it because it's instant.
edit: i think he gives everything except faith
160/160 Fragments, Plat trophy and all characters maxed with all the best weapons.
Only grindy part that I got sick of was farming Yomi for Traps shit got boring fast lol my last one refused to drop ungh, really loved the whole paradox ending idea and can't wait for them to expand with DLC that needs to hurry up btw.

The slots fragment is retarded. I put 4k coins in and taped down the L1 button. 2500 spins and 2 hours later I'm down to 1k coins and gotten nowhere. I guess this shit is so bad you actually have to leave the game on over night. I need to find a decent way of farming gil because that 4k coins was around 40% of my gil.
Can't you just save before you start on the slot machine, notice you're down a bunch of coins, and reload? I haven't started trying to get coins yet, so I could be wrong (maybe it auto-saves or something), but that is what I intend to do
Also, since we're on the subject, do you need a turbo controller, or can you just hold down the L1 button?
You can just hold down L1I used tape like someone suggested on here, worked like a treat.
I guess you can but I've just spent my last 56k on more coins and can't be arsed to go save. Gil isn't that hard to farm at end-game anyway, I've just never had to do it yet.
You can just hold down the L1 button or anything that's equivalent, IE jam it between books or use some tape on it.
I don't know what's worse, waiting for that to finish or the crafting I'm doing in FFXIV. I should just tape down the enter key or something and be done with both games. SE loves their repetitive retarded gameplay.
Edit: I guess I can reload if this 56k fails because the game surely must have auto saved before I went in the building and not during spins.
I am also willing to believe that the slot machines become straight-up rigged when you use Auto-Play. Not that you can actually time your reel stopping when you play manually, because that's bullshit... but your odds are most certainly fucked when you hold the button down.
When I started on the slots, I did it all manually and with each session I ended up going into super/victory mode 1-2 times each and only after spending 1,000~2,000 coins tops (I only play when it's "on fire"). Recently, I bought a shitload of coins, taped L1 down, and walk away. Not a single 777 from over 10,000 coins.
I've had like 18 777s and one ochu so far but I'm still at about -7k coins out of around 10k bought. Seems the only way to make a high enough profit for the trophy is to get ochus on super victory mode.
the more you lose the harder it is to get the 10k profit achievement. So its in your best interest to save before and go to a reload if you have bad luck in super victory mode and end up losing a shit load and getting nothing worthwhile in return. If you save in a special mode you lose it when you reload, but I saved everytime I got a good roll and wasn't down, since it all adds up
But surely that requires watching the game all the time.
After 4600 spins my gil/coins ran out so I just reloaded from my last save point and put 9600 coins back in. I can just do that again and again if tomorrow I don't wake up with the trophy and fragment.
I'm doing it with the machine on fire now, was hot summer last time. Both good apparently. I've even reset the area for the beginners luck thing which is supposed to help your odds.
Edit: I might actually do chocobo races instead if this plan fails.
I just pût tape on l1 and went afk 2h came back with fragment and trophy
0/32 on Lightning's monster crystal/Amodar's monster crystal/Sergeant's badge, but 84892023 Lightning crosses. Can you only get the rare drop on whoever dies second? I've been killing Amodar first, and now I wonder if it makes a difference on crystals or badges for that fight.
edit: 1/36 on Lightning's crystal, woo.
