Neeeewwwp. I had <10k coins prior to this DLC. Have ... well, a lot, it was late and I know after poker I had 53k+ coins.

As for this DLC, maybe I was just lucky, but I took the original 10k coin seed and played my first poker match with full 10k coin buy-in. After a half hour of rollercoastering betweeen 7k and 13k, I hit a flush and lured the table into an all in. Not only do you get the 40k from the table buy-ins, but you get a 10k victory bonus and a ton of quest medals bonuses as well (16 medals from the one match in total).

Jumped over to Chronobind (which I like, I'm glad they put in an original game and not blackjack or something) and put up the full 10,000 again. Apparently all you need to do is bust 1 person and you clear the table and get a bonus (got 12 medals in total, bringing me to 28 ).

I have a feeling that getting coins through Chronobind and Serendipity Poker does not count towards that 10,000 profit thing. I walked out with over 55k coins from Chronobind and nothing happened. :/

I think you have to bust someone and have the highest total to get a bonus... I think.

I think you have to bust someone and have the highest total to get a bonus... I think.

Oh, yeah ... probably. I had highest AND I was the one to "land the killing blow" as opposed to an AI busting someone.

Bummer. I was hoping I could just park myself at the ChronoBind table since that's the most enjoyable minigame offered. I guess I'll just play until I have enough medals and then go to chocobo racing for the trophy.

"Killing blow" does not matter. I was in the lead last night when one AI busted another and I won the session bonus.

I'm still trying to figure out if the heads/tails coin when you start a game affects your luck. I feel like it does, but loleyeballing. It's been a long while since I've seen heads, but I still make a good 30k from a 10k buy-in Chronobind on tails.

I think you just sit there making bets based entirely on Sazh's commentary and you'll eventually pull out in front... I think? I suck at poker and I hate it, so I haven't really bothered to attempt it. Plus, Chronobind is so much more fun. Just a little bit more until I can start my 100k buy-ins...

Yes sometimes it won't but in 50 times only 2 time they didn't fold

Yeah, I don't know how you're managing that. It only works a handful of times for me until someone calls me... and they only end up calling because they have a decent hand, which I never do.

Yeah, I absolutely raped at the poker game. Half the time I just kept raising bets until they all got nervous and folded.

The Poker AI is terrible. Some of the players will have no problem going all in with nothing but a 2 and a 7, while others will fold every hand until they have a pair, at which point you can (finally) get them to bet some chips. All you need to do is ignore Sazh, play the table, and you'll have no problem winning everything.

Jesus, I just won a 100k match of Chronobind and made a profit of 277,067 coins... Love it.

One thing that's annoying and predictable about the Chronobind AI is that if the hand starts at 1~6 and any of them win the first showdown, they will always push the hand back to 13 to charge it instead of heading into 7~12.

Too bad those coins aren't actually good for anything

Edit: I don't mean to discredit the game by saying that, I'm still playing Chronobind because I think it's fun as hell, I just wish the reward was worth something.

Hey, I never had any coins until this DLC. That last haul allowed me to buy every adornment, a pair of Ribbons, that last 'Just 1 Gil' fragment, and that stupid Wild Artifact. :x

Yeah, I agree though, now there's no point to racking up more coins. My stash will carry me through any amount of Chocobo race items I may need. At least it's somewhat possible that they can add more items to that list (and hopefully more battles that you might need an extra umph to win.).

I still want to try playing Chronobind IRL with quarters or something.

Fair enough! I had already done that before the dlc came out so I suppose it's more so just worthless to me.
