Yashas 100 iirc it's either the Wild Artifact in Bresha Ruins 300 (the snow one) or Oerba 200(or close to that)
I've seen this a couple times in this thread and wanted to mention I did the Sarah+Monster fight vs. Caius with the paradox scope and found it significantly easier to have Serah SEN and Chichu out. All the eater abilities, and he seems to focus more on Serah means it worked out fairly well.
I got pissed off with that fight because I don't have a super Chichu. I just used my silver chocobo as sentinel and had Serah spam Wound. Once he was down to 27k HP I got him up to stagger point, switched my Amodar in and battered him with the feral link.
The Yomi fight pissed me off too due to the constant stagger resets. I didn't spam Wound on that one but my silver chocobo certainly helped. I just took it slow, 25 min fight.
Anyway I just got my platinum trophy. Chronobind is certainly a good game but it should have been there at release. Not touched the Poker.
I should probably go kill Omega now. Probably left it too late to be challenging.
With just poison the fight takes about 8 minutes, still 5 stars. For a lot of the fight he really isn't doing too much damage, you can put up deshell, deprotect, and poison then go into something like triple com and do some damage that way until he goes into his shield or you need to cure yourself. Doing it that way will take the fight down to about ~4 minutes.
Typhon (and most likely Ultros) confirmed as arena battle DLC: http://www.siliconera.com/2012/03/05...al-fantasy-vi/
I could never stick poison on him, unless there's no visible indicator that he's poisoned. So I gave up on that one pretty quickly.
My characters are fairly weak anyway, I didn't max out the crystarium properly, I didn't pick up Serah's fragment weapon and I've been too lazy to farm to make Chichu any good.
THe icon is like 2 bubbles 1 small and 1 bigger
Or you could just use the ATB+50% weapons. Aside from going for the 99,999dmg trophy, I can't think of a time I ever took those off. Since Haste is so much harder to come by than in FFXIII, the ATB+% weapons don't get any competition at all this time around.
The chain bonus weapons outperform the ATB speed+ ones if you're trying to speedrun Raspatil and Yomi, while the ATB+1 weapons are good to farm weak monsters since pre-emptive strikes give you haste and full ATB gauge so you can do things like 2x Ruinga or 2x Thundaga ending those battles in a couple of seconds.
I'll concede that chain bonus may beat ATB+ against Rasp, but I don't see how chain bonus outperforms ATB+ against Yomi. ATB+ allows you to get Deshell and Poison up faster which let's you go into RAV/RAV/RAV to stagger faster. ATB+ also let's you buff faster after Impenetrable Aura, and therefore allows you to build that stagger meter quite a bit before the aura wears off. I don't see the chain bonus making up the ground gained in those areas, but if you've got math and shits (it's BG, you know what's up, and I recognize the irony in me not giving any math...sup being mad drunk) then it's coo.
As for trash, it's completely moot. If you pre-emptive strike and don't kill with the first fully stocked ATB gauge then I don't know what to tell you... also sup one-shot fragment skill
EDIT: I guess what I'm trying to say is this game is mad easy. You can play it wrong and still be a fucking boss. If they don't add any challenging fights then I will continue my position of buying zero DLC for this game. Yo, at least it's better than vanilla though.
I know the game is easy, I'm just talking about the best possible performance.
There are speedrun videos on youtube that clearly show that chain boost weapons are better than ATB+ ones since you can beat both Yomi and Raspatil in less than a minute with them (making Poison useless on the former).
Regarding trash mobs - it does matter when you're killing hundreds of monsters to farm monster mats or when you're trying to get the best base stats from crystals. COM/COM/RAV is the best setup you can use for them because of Ravage+Ruinga spam. The extra ATB slot will let you end those battles in one turn much more often.
Again, this is about the best possible performance, though the results won't be that much better if you're just aiming for the platinum trophy. If you're a completionist and/or enjoy building monsters it's something to keep in mind though.
I have no idea how people beat Rasp quickly. Took me 30 minutes to beat him on my second attempt. My first attempt, once it got to 5x sword guy summons, I couldn't hurt him more than he healed when he ate them.
Maybe you're just underleveled. I fought Rasp twice last night, and I didn't even realize it until just now. It probably took me 10 minutes or so, but I wouldn't have called it hard. That's depressing if that's supposed to be one of the harder encounters in the game (is it?). I don't even debuff, I just rely on Goblin Chieftain Feral Link buffs and wail on things.
I did kill the adds though, idk which way is better.
