FFXIII-2: Post Release Discussion

Eh, sort of depends on you really, I think I ended up clearing it in about 45 mins or so being as I didn't really understand the 'levelling up' system going on, it'd probably be faster to take chunks of HP off Caius in the fight and then die pretty quick to get XP rather than trying to kill him as Lv1 Lightning, it gets way easier pretty quick if you do that. Unfortunately I spent the good part of 25 minutes trying to scratch Caius' HP and not knowing what the deal was. It's definitely doable at lv1, just would take long as hell.

I'm confident in saying it's impossible to clear the entire episode as level 1 Lightning. You can definitely kill Caius at level 1 but if you take too long you won't be able to fight Chaos Bahamut. Level 3 makes Caius a joke thanks to CON's Mighty Guard, but it puts you on even ground vs Chaos Bahamut. Level 5 gives you an edge thanks to Aura (HASTE @_@) and I got five stars that way and I didn't even play perfectly.

I'd say 30 minutes overall to complete this episode, but this is pretty much the best battle in the entire game due to it's battle design and needed level of skill from the player.

As for Snow, once he gets to 200% Power you have to let the person he's whailing on die, and then he'll do his "Time to Chill" ability which sets him back to 100%.

Ending pretty much confirms XIII-3, and it seems Lightning will return to being the main Protagonist.

im fine with ff13-3 if they work it out like they did in that DLC it made for a fun set of fights. and as much as people hate the games(why i dont get) I have over200 hours logged total with ff13 and ff13-2
Worth the 4.99? eh ya that one fight was fun. I do wish they gave a few more CS's was to short for the 3 CS's. Also lvl 5 is broken I owned his ass in 2 staggers.

as for the snow fight. Fuck why did I no think of that! hell we are all FFXI players at one point duh die lots to win!

edit: So dont use SEN at all I guess on snow's fight.... god that is so odd. Iv always used sen to dodge attacks. Going to take some getting use to not changing over to it for one fight.

Gonna quickly amend what I said about Snow since I'm currently in the fight. I'll update this post if anything comes up.

At beginning of the fight, SEN does absolutely nothing. Snow is immune to Provoke (only monster in the game to do this in fact). However, once he releases energy to 200% or 300%, he becomes susceptible to Provoke.

Upon this, you Provoke him with a character he is not attacking. This'll allow him to "Chill out" and reset back to 100%. Note that if he uses "Here we go", he becomes immune to provoke again until he releases energy.

59 potions for the two fights. Can get that down to 20~30np with some work. Got snow first try not so lucky on the send guy.

think what this is showing me is i need to work on my blue cho more he may be 99 but hes not that great at chaining. Takes forever to stagger snow at 500%...

anyone else running into a brick wall with valfodr lvl45... healing faster then I can stagger.
lvl 1 was a joke
lvl 5 was somewhat a joke
but crap 45 is out right nuts with his healers.

I got a final coming up. Plan to have a hack at him after. Think I will try and hold stagger till after his healers die stagger and hope to not have to deal with them; did not keep track of time but it seems less then 1min at times. Army of one rocks by the way ~_~ I cant tell the DMG I am dealing but its taking a huge amount of HP out when staggered at 999% .

You can pretty much go Cerberus mode and let everyone go buckwild on everything and the cacutars die pretty easily.

I just bought this game and got 20 dollars to spend on DLC which ones should I scoop up? I'm not interested in the outfits just content stuff.

Start out with lightnings episode, 4.99, snows maybe for 3.99. Saze if you really want story.. Then just get battles. Think for 20 you can get almost everything.

Lightning's episode should be 1st on your list. Only get Sazh if you like Sazh as a character because that's all his DLC is really worth. It's not worth getting the Snow episode if you don't have all the Coliseum battles.

As for DLC Battles, get Omega, Lightning & Amodar, and Jihl as your first picks. You won't be able to fight the rest efficiently until you're maxed out basically.

Not really. It has small amounts of story. Very little, it explains mostly the colosium.

To get V. Lightning you need to beat Chaos Bahamut with 5 stars. You also get an additional scene after the credits.
