This. They're shady as fuck, greedy, and have completely lost their way. I stopped supporting him when they started suing other charities for using the phrase "for the cure." Seriously? They wasted over a million doing that. If they can waste that much money on suing other charities, they aren't doing what they're supposed to be doing with ANY of their money.

(CNN) -- The Susan G. Komen foundation has reversed a controversial decision not to renew funding for some Planned Parenthood projects, the group said in a statement Friday.
"We want to apologize to the American public for recent decisions that cast doubt upon our commitment to our mission of saving women's lives," the statement said. "We will continue to fund existing grants, including those of Planned Parenthood, and preserve their eligibility to apply for future grants, while maintaining the ability of our affiliates to make funding decisions that meet the needs of their communities."
Planned Parenthood said Tuesday that the foundation had "succumbed to political pressure" by cutting its funding for breast cancer screenings at Planned Parenthood amid increased scrutiny by Congress over how Planned Parenthood provides abortion services.
The decision triggered strong emotions.
Komen restores Planned Parenthood funds
In Washington, at least 22 Senate Democrats signed a letter calling on Komen to reconsider its decision.
CREDO, which describes itself as the largest corporate donor to Planned Parenthood, said Thursday that 250,000 of its members had signed a petition urging the Komen Foundation to reverse its decision.
"The move is clearly connected to attempts by Republicans in Congress to defund Planned Parenthood," the organization said in a statement. "In responding to questions about its decision, the foundation cited as its rationale a sham 'investigation' into Planned Parenthood launched by Republican Rep. Cliff Stearns." who the group called "one of the most militant anti-choice members of Congress."
In September, the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, on which the Florida congressman sits, began an investigation into Planned Parenthood over the organization's "compliance with federal restrictions on funding abortions."
New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg also announced that he planned to give $250,000 to the Planned Parenthood Federation of America to help make up for the loss of funding from the Komen foundation, his office said Thursday.

For those who didn't keep up a ton on this, PP actually already does yearly audits to make sure they aren't spending public funds illegally and have everything fully accounted for in terms of distribution of types of funding, even down to the point of public money not going to overhead for locations that offer abortion services. The whole 'investigation' is basically a witch hunt that will result in PP providing the paperwork and nothing ever happening of it.

What do we then call the physical violence used against abortion doctors, to intimidate other doctors from providing a legal service to women, or women seeking to have one?

Heh.. their "apology" was nothing more than a PR stunt. They've basically said they'll revise these new policies so they don't sound discriminatory and honor the grants they've already approved for 2012, but after that PP can apply for new grants all it wants and they won't get them.

Karen Handel, a top lobbyist for the Susan G. Komen for the Cure breast cancer foundation, has resigned following the group’s decision to restore funding to the Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA), according to The Associated Press. Handel was the former Republican attorney general of Georgia. She ran for the state’s governorship in 2010, but lost to Democrat Nathan Deal.
Part of her political platform was ensuring no taxpayer funds were used by Planned Parenthood, and she’s been at the center of a firestorm ever since the Komen foundation adjusted their criteria to eliminate grants for the organization.
Emails that have surfaced since the controversy began show that Handel was in fact behind the decision, although Komen founder Nancy G. Brinker has repeatedly denied that.

A welcome move, but this doesn't change anything as far as I'm concerned. This was a joint effort, started by Brinker and executed by Handel. They both deserve to get the boot. Even then, SGK's brand is still tarnished beyond repair.
