Marijuana and Health Insurance

Alright,

So I have health insurance through my employer.

Long story short I haven't had a physical in quite sometime (and wanting to get some blood work done as well) and I'm wanting to schedule a doctor's appointment and pay through it via my insurance company, i.e. employer.

Question is, if in anyway they detect weed in my system for any reason, do they have to report it to my insurer, which is essentially provided by my employer, or does doctor patient confidentiality still apply in this case?

For obvious reasons, I'm concerned.

I want to say that confidentiality would stop them from reporting that to the insurance company but I'm not 100% sure.
