You caught a saintly SGM on a particularly good day, then, because that kind of call doesn't warrant a response. They specifically tell you to be as clear as possible; "let me talk to a gm" should get an automated response.

My favorite part about this thread is even when the posts don't go as planned, they're still in the correct spot.
I put in a GM call about ANNM loot being fucked (I did campaign before since I slacked with medals after changing nation, it ended, went to pop ANNM, popped loot chest..."You are ineligible due to being in campaign" WUT)? I got a fucking automated response about third party tools?
As someone who works tech support for 8 hours a day on the phone, I can tell you that automatic responses are what piss people off the most treating someone like an human even if you can't help them goes alot farther. It shouldn't matter if I want to just say hi, when it's your job to do something you do it, fact of the matter is the SGM clearly stated to me that they miss used the auto response.
'Clearly stated' means absolutely nothing with regard to the GM or SGM staff. Countless things have been 'clearly stated', only to be undermined a day later by a different GM.
And you don't think stupid calls like "I need to speak to a GM" are a huge contributing factor in why they need the option to give out an automated response? If you're unable to follow their directions in giving them some kind of idea of what your issue is, you don't deserve a human response. Period.
1) "As someone who.." does not a logical argument make.
2) Sure, they may* be obligated to answer you, but given their limited staff, it is far easier to take steps to address problems when they know there actually is a problem. Regardless, you aren't making yourself look any better. And you aren't going to.
Better yet, don't do that.
If you're someone who works tech support I can understand why people are frequently upset at tech support.
Bhaflau high score?

a GM that is not talking like a robot, never thought that was a possibility.
Omg Buuren left ;; remember him very well. Most epic GM ever.
If you work tech support then you should know that "It's about time" is an automatic recipe for someone not to help you, unless it's a very menial amount of effort involved.
Was I rude - yes is this a disputed point? Nope I know I was agitated by the time I got a real person.
But since this is a tech support dispute, every company I've worked for had the same general rule. It doesn't matter how rude someone is, unless they are cursing you out or threatening you, then your sol and have to stay with them and do your job. I have would love to be able to work for a company that let me tell people they should be banned from computers.
You want rude callers work tier 2 tech support for a cell phone company, and get someone who's been transfered 11 times by tier 1.
That's all well and good, but you are posting in a thread seemingly expecting others to sympathize with the actions that occurred. The only fail is you.
You didn't get a real person because you were too lazy to explain your issue. Yes it is their job to help customers with real issues, it is not their job to just chat away with customers. For all they know you could have wanted to talk about how the sky is blue.
Everyone knows XI cust service is generally shitty but in this instance they did their job by correctly by giving you an automated response. You didn't provide the required information so you can get fucked. You were the only person to blame for the fact you didn't get to speak to an actual person and as a result got agitated.
Jem, the problem with that is they only give u like 50 characters to "describe your problem". Theres not really much you can put in there. It works for "i wuz mpked", " cant move im stuck halp", but nothing that requires sufficient details. I guess it works for them that way tho
