I shout to sell items at discount prices (Ghrah Chip for 20% of the original price and Deed of Placidity for ~10-50% original price) and sell them relatively quickly. Apparently, one of the buyers is ok with taking advantage of a mega-deal but has a problem with me holding my items in bazaar (The oddity of their accusation being that I have T shells for a moderate price):

The best part was being told that douches would welcome me after she welcomed me. Truthfully, I had the coins at 80k but bumped them to 800k to avoid problems (Keeping them in main pack to avoid inventory problems during dynamis).

- Me specifying which items I'm selling
- Me selling these items at a relatively large discount
- Him taking advantage of this discount
- Him subsequently bitching about the price at which I put my O bronze for storage
- Him telling me I'll be welcomed by douches and him welcoming me *

* This is the real joke of the interaction more than the actual conflict at hand

Because if you shouted for O pieces at 800k, not only would people laugh at it, but it would ruin the scam. Like Nynja said, its their fault if they are stupid and buy the 800k o.piece, but it's still a dick move on your part. If they were really in their for storage and not to scam people, you wouldnt put it at the silver piece price.

Thing is that I had them at 800k because I wasn't lazy. I had them at 80k and bumped them up to 800k to avoid people with number problems (Xdark). If someone is dumb enough to buy them, I can give them back the gil and it's not like I'm sitting around Upper waiting for a buyer. I shouted to sell specific items and move on. If I wanted to scam people, I would use Imperial Silverpiece since those are much more convincing icon-wise. And really, if me setting my prices at retard-friendly prices is lazy, I wonder what people actually buying them are.

You set your bronzepiece at the price of silverpieces...it doesnt seem accidental, why would you "accidentally" set it to 800000 when you can just hold left and set it to 99999999? You dont have to worry, no one here is going to take pity on anyone who buys a bronze for the price of a silver out of a bazaar, because it is their own fault for being an idiot. But dont try to save face saying "oh I'm just holding it", when you set it at that price.

Fought Melo Melo today for skill ups, warped after getting bored and high enough skill with low HP. Was using the jeuno AH and randomly just dropped dead, forgetting I was poisoned . No one raised me for 45 mins I was dead @ the LJ AH.... then got a R2 after I came back from a shower..lol.

I actually am holding it though. That's why I put it at 10mil now. I bought them from another person when I went to +2 my Wyrm greaves and received a few more when I went to Dynamis with Oph/Sham. I can see why you wouldn't believe me, but I don't care at this point. My point wasn't that someone fucked up at judging me, my point was that people are sympathetic to buyer mistake more than seller's mistake. I honestly sold those items without knowing the real cost (I only saw the price after I posted the image) and didn't even think they would sell. Even if the listed price was intentional, I could have easily been ignorant of the going rate (And they would have no knowledge of whether the price listed is because of my ignorance or because I'm actually giving a good bargain). Instead of preventing the latter, they were quick to jump on the bargain. Of course, converse treatment is required for buyers because...?

When did withholding the truth cease to count as deception? It's no different than when someone accidentally lists a price improperly, allowing any passer-by to purchase it at the mistaken price, which very few people seem to take issue with within the upper echelon of the playerbase.

As Yugl said, the distinction is entirely arbitrary, and it's being discussed because overpricing currency to intentionally deceive players is not only common, but commonly frowned upon. It's the court of public opinion that we're dealing with right now, not an impartial justice.
