Bull fucking shit. Prospective buyers have absolutely no expectation that they will figure out someone's motive for selling an item at a given price. Taking advantage of an obvious pricing error is completely different. The shout clearly demonstrated that the pricing was intentional. Hence there is nothing wrong with buying at that price, end of story.

I'm going to quote myself because I believe your concern is already addressed:

Even if the listed price was intentional, I could have easily been ignorant of the going rate (And they would have no knowledge of whether the price listed is because of my ignorance or because I'm actually giving a good bargain).
It was pointed out that I didn't know the value of what I sold until I made the post. It turns out that I don't care. However, not only would it be impossible for him to have known whether I was aware of the going price, he didn't even advise me on the going price. Why? It's simply because he feels no responsibility for my error in pricing. That is what it means to take advantage of a pricing error. It's only through irrational whim that convention chastises advances upon buyer's error rather than seller's error.

I didn't miss it, I dismissed it as irrelevant. It was not a pricing "error," and it would be absurd to treat it as such when you set a price and then shouted that price. Sales happen at closeout prices all the time, and there is no reasonable expectation for the buyer to figure out why. It's a dick move to come across, say, Poison Potions at 1G or something obviously set there for a group and forgotten about, or a real pricing error (Eg, 8k 100 Bynes). Those situations are clearly distinct from someone selling at buy-this-before-I-drop-it prices.

You're playing a semantics argument. Whether you call it "error" or any other term is irrelevant in determining whether you're taking advantage of an individual's inattentiveness.

You were not inattentive, you were in a hurry to get rid of the items.

They have no means of knowing whether I was inattentive to market value without asking or advising.

This is turning into one of our famous, idiotic 3-page derails, but that is the most reasonable assumption for a buyer to make. Just give it up. Nobody believed you were innocently bazaaring singles at 100 prices, and nobody reasonable is going to believe that the buyer was similarly unethical.

It's not reason, it's convention. If you can posit a reason why one act is taking advantage of the individual's ignorance while the other is not, save us the three page argument and do so. Otherwise, concede that it is convention. You believe that probability makes the act reasonable, but such an argument would equally apply to the case of an individual placing an overpriced item in his or her bazaar (Much greater probability of an individual buying the item at the normal rather than the overpriced rate; in other words, the chance of an individual buying overpriced items is minimal by comparison). I've also made it clear that my intent in posting the image was not to discuss the sincerity of the act, so bringing that up seems like a strawman attempt to distract us from the fact that there is no distinction between the two acts I mention.

The scam is to underprice so the single currency sells quickly/without thought at hundred prices

why do you keep bringing that up? Different servers have different prices. It doesn't make it not a scam by not being an awesome deal lol. Every single person commenting on this has already said it would be the buyer's fault anyway.

If you buy a bronzepiece for the price of a silverpiece then you're an idiot and probably deserve to get scammed. "O. Bronzepiece" and "M. Silverpiece" don't even look similar, nor do the icons.

cool, thx for telling us about your servers economy where bronze are 7k each. If someone is almost finished their relic and would like to get shit done instead of doing 3 more days of boring dynamis farming, I guess they shouldnt buy the currency.

No one here is saying anyone who falls for it, buying a single for the price of a hundred from a bazaar, isnt an idiot and didnt deserve to be scammed. it doesnt change the fact that placing a single piece for the price of a hundred piece is shitty behavior, thats all were saying, and then trying to justify it by saying "I set it at that price to hold it" makes no sense when theres less keypresses to demonstrate items being held while achieving the same result.

He's not telling anyone how to act. In fact, it's the people against him that are doing so.

    What?

I'm probably retarded for continuing this but... What the fuck are you talking about lol.

He told people not to buy them for 800k. That's telling them how to act.

We are saying you are a dick for trying to scam people (whether it was a mistake or not isn't the point atm). We didn't tell you not to try and scam people, we just told you you were a dick for doing so.
