I usually ask first if my pty wants Marchx2/Minuetx1 or Marchx1/Minuetx2 when I do pick-up VW on BRD.
Then regardless of what I do, or what the consensus #1 choice would be, I still get random bitching tells about it.
So I usually reply "Next time, I'll Pianissimo Bieber x3.

Chaoscloud. Exact setup actually. He also came to an Ig shout on mnk and full-timed a staff. You will probably find him in PJ standing around on WAR in an Ogier's Surcoat, which he full-times on every job that can equip it.

In fairness she did ask at a Qilin I was at. On the flipside though, she also went a wee bit crazy when asked in a reasonable manner to switch to double marches (I wasn't on melee DD so didn't care one jot)

I think the majority of PUG BRD's using Minuet is because of all the cheap/gimp as fuck DD's who ask for it. I'm sure everyone's damage would get a huge eyeballing boost from Minuets if we were all shittily geared, too cheap to use food and too stupid to keep temps/buffs up like the majority of PUG DD's!

He seems like a nice enough guy. I took him on our Ig group last night, and managed not to give him shit for his gear despite our first encounter. Granted, the first time we were in the same group the alliance was set up poorly to say the least. As long as I know our group is 90% solid, I really don't mind bringing people of a "lesser calibur."

Its when I'm in some fucktard alliance seeing a WAR fulltime swords, etc. that I start to rage.

I was actually surprised, but Chaos parsed at like 7.5% over a set of 12, which probably doesn't speak volumes about the other empy dds in the group.
