I think someone said ages ago that if you use Divine Caress with Cursna, even if it fails it'll give the doom an extra tick. I might be completely making that up, but I'm sure I read it somewhere.

Sort of. If you succesfully remove Doom with Divine Caress up, the next time something dooms you it gives you an extra tick when the counter reaches zero. If the WHM has Orison+2 gloves on you get 3 extra ticks.

I really don't think it was intentionally programmed that way and you're supposed to resist it outright.
