I'm having a hard time finding the logical reasoning to rolling enraged damage on my weapon or using an enraged crystal over say +boss damage. Can someone help me understand why most people do it?
For rolling a weapon I just personally do Enraged as an extra stat, not as a main. Like I wouldn't roll it on anything I'm doing x2 ASPD on that's not a 3/5/7/9 piece. (Back + Boss less spike damage than Boss + Enrage, but a bit more consistent assuming you're taking full advantage of the back. Boss + Enraged is good for Warrior tanks, and Lancers that don't roll Aggro.) Focused Crystal is worth it, because you'll notice a considerable increase in DPS on anything you can crit which is basically everything but Kelsiak. Some things a lot more often than others of course but, mostly the damage boost you get from Focused outweighs the consistent damage of the Mutinous assuming you're doing a full back crit build, or a x2/3 Mut one. Queen's Wrath isn't her "enrage", but she's usually forced into enraged mode via Infuriate @20% it or already in it from the damage taken.
For weapons, it's better to use boss damage over enraged if it only has four (base/3/6/9) because it's more consistent; for crystals it's better to use enraged because it affects crit. damage rather than being a simple flat percentage increase like boss crystals are, especially in critical builds. You'll be stacking that Enraged crystal with other crystals that affect crit. damage even more (like Savage & Acrimonious) as well as savagery scrolls. Throw in a Mystic, and you'll have a decent crit. rate too. And even without a Mystic, most classes' base crit. rate is enough to throw the better efficiency being in crit. damage rather than flat boss damage.
My MCHM group disbanded ~_~ Anyone on AV wants to group? XD
So ideal stats on my masterwork'd Regentip would be double attack speed, boss, and enraged. What about the Queensplate? Double Boss and then what? What do people like for their skill boost? Challenging shout, spring attack, or something else?
Spring Attack, HP Restoration, Enraged
Pretty bored as of late and with FFXIV P3 Beta not happening until early - mid June decided to install this last night and give the free trial a go!
Had a quick look at the character creator before work this morning and noticed at the class stage it has recommendations in difficulty. How is a priest in this game? Is there anything majorly different about it as a healing class or just keep everyone alive? Is it a poor class to solo with or for starting out on your own?
How is leveling to endgame? Does everyone just solo and do quests or do people party up at all along the way? Will i find it hard finding other new players leveling along the way?
Cheers
Priest has an easier time healing than mystic.
Priest has Target heal, Target Heal with secondary AoE heal, and 2 healing circles one directly infront of you. 2nd one 8 meters out, and a Power buff for dmg boost, and energy stars. And a Self heal (huge)
Mystic has, Target heal, and regen balls/mp balls, a healing fairy for healing. Then a much loved crit rate boost + a small powerboost that last
healing power of a priest is strong, but overkill at times. my priest spends most of the time spaming energy stars(attack speed buff) and putting my healing circle on the ground for mana for mele.
lvling is a different story priest dps is pretty decent compared to mystics. You have an actual combo of moves to choose from can blow through normal monsters with some ease. even past lvl 50ish
lvling on mystic ive been told is a nightmare (i have no first hand experience on this).
and yes teras main questing is go here > kill X amount of x> k now turn it in. > go to next hub rinse repeat. With some bam(actual fun part of lvling) quests sprinkled in the first time around its not so bad but once your on your 3rd-4th alt.. shit got old
lvling in group of 2-3 is the fastest way to exp and experience everything/story quests and such.
If your lvling a healer every time you see a dps or tank in the area ask if they wanna team up(still a few people around low levels 1-40, starts to thin out past that tho.
grind dungeons of your area few times do the dungeon quests till your about 3-4 lvls above it, still decent exp on the lower lvl dungeons under lvl 40ish 40+ isnt worth it anymore to grind dungeons just keep questing since the lvls are starting to get longer.
52+ is annoying as hell cuz the monsters triple in total HP now. So it helps to have the highest ilvl gear you can for your lvl(weapon/body), Glyph for DPs (shocking implosion, metamorhpic blast, divine radiance) and just keep grinding and teaming up when you can. 50-57 is the longest lvls imo. Once your 58+ and doing the Kiator storyline shit will be a breeze, once the Bastion storyline unlocks for you go there do all those quests since your gonna be doing reputation for priest rings there or... skip it if you wanna just go straight to battle grounds for your rings. but im rambling about shit that wont matter till later
btw what server did you pick
and check this out skimmed over it looked decent. http://teratoday.com/tera-guide/tera...a-priest-guide
TBH I would pick mystic. They are more wanted by experienced groups, its brd/rdm vs whm all over again.
Should try to always find a lvling partner and dig in to straight grind mobs for fastest exp. Could do regular quest chains if you're solo though.
Here's a lvling guide: http://teratoday.com/tera-guide/tera-leveling-guide
apples to oranges
mystics and priests
I'm curious if Kelsaiks nest raid is gonna shift healing favor again, Yea Mystic is king now cuz honestly MC is a joke with a good group that aren't idiots. But priest Aoe heals and healing immersion vs 1 target heal and balls and a minisqule totem for 20 people?
Thanks for all the information! Think i picked Tempest Reach which is a PVE server? Im not hugely into PVP tbh! I went with the priest only got to level 7 was just playing for a short time but seems somewhat decent so far! I opted for the easier solo route. Seen a fair few running around but think im just in a generic start out area some sort of island.
On average with probably 2-3 hours playtime per night / day how long do you think it would take to get to endgame? How has it going free to play affected the game has it turned into one big cash shop? Pay to win and whatnot?
im on Tempest Reach think everyone else on bg is pvp. Minerva.Kissaki hit me up in game if you have questions/need help
Island of dawn is the starting area for all class/races
2-3hrs a night you can make good progress in the early lvls. 1-40 in about 3-4 days
40-50 in a week
50-58 in about a 7-9 days
58-60 in a day
endgame isn't really pay to win. To get the top of the line Visionmaker gear you have to have materials from multiple sources of endgame content. PvE (queen hm), PvP (battlegrounds), Nexus (daily invasion event), Reputation dailies. Only thing that can be even bought with gold (if you dont pay groups for a queens quill) is Argon vitrols. (but enough of stuff ur not worried about).
If you don't waste your money from 1-60. You should have about 4-6k in gold more than enough to buy a full T14 abyss set on our server. Hell i could just give you one if u actually make it to 60 (no sexual favors needed).
There are cosmetic items in the shop like masks and costumes and weapon skins.
and some Rng boxes for stuff like extensive alkahest (alkahest is for enchanting) and spellbinds. But even then.. that shit is still RNG(random number generated ie Luck) as fuck.
Endgame in a nutshell
> learn a dungeon
> do this dungeon into the fucking ground
> Get your gear
> Enchant said gear to +9
> Master work said gear
> enchant said gear to +12
> rinse repeat dungeons faster now because you have better gear and you have a hold of the mechanics
Tera has basically 4 endgame dungeons that 1 is almost already obsolete. People spend all their times in MCHM & COF & Battlegrounds (pvp arena)
^ I'm on TR too, look me up on Glad.OS, Meresgi, Laylu or Giltine if you need any help in game or what not. I usually drag people through dungeons for drops sometimes and I have crap tons of lvling gear in my bank for all my alts so I can toss you some to make the journey easier if I happen to have your gear/lvl you need.
Also on Tempest Reach now, main is Keshad, but short on playtime due to RL stuff atm
So just noticed this constant gift box when lvling an alt, how new are these things or are they just from the TERA birthday stuff? at lvl 35 it gives you a gold weapon D:
I dont remember patch notes on them, but it's at least been a month or two.
