Razer Naga :D Bought one last week. Leaves my left hand free to wasd and puts all my skills and movement on my right hand. Worth every penny~ I've heard some people even remap the movement keys to their naga buttons instead so they aim and move with the mouse... Although I can't imagine doing that myself, I like my wasd keys. Takes some getting used to, but it's actually a lot smoother than I expected.

You can set how fast the controller pans around, in one of the menu options, so you can tweak it to what you are comfortable with. As for any aiming issues, I had zero problems, on Berserker, and it plays much like any hack and slash game. On my Sorcerer, and Archer, I did have some aiming issues, when I needed to use charged abilities, so for fast paced PvP, you'll probably see a difference between that, and the mouse, for complete control. For normal questing, or doing instances, there's really no issue since instance bosses are usually huge or large groups of mobs to hit, and quest mobs have specific patterns, so you know where you need to aim.

I'm looking at pictures and I am wondering if it is difficult in any way to hit those side buttons for your skills and such on the naga? I've never really played MMOs that required me to focus on mouse and keyboard (well WoW but like I said in guild over the weekend, most people would wonder what the hell I'm doing if they saw me play haha).

I'll second this. I tried regular keyboard and mouse and a controller in the first beta. The second beta I had my fresh Razer Naga. It takes A LOT of getting used to. Specially if you mess around with your action bar layout. But in the end it lets you use abilities along without interrupting movement.

My plan for CB3 is to rebind my F1-12 to the 12 Naga buttons. I'll put my normal spells on the function slots and use them with the Naga. Then I'll put my spells that don't allow movement such as charge up spells, mana enfusion, etc, on the further number keys because I can't move when I'm using them anyway. I'll put potions on the closer number keys so I can use them on the fly.

I think this will allow the most possible control over my character in this game.

It is a bit difficult but it gets better as you get used to it. My current problem that I will try to fix is that moving my thumb and pressing a correct button sometimes nudges my mouse and it causes a miss. But overall it is a vast improvement over a standard mouse and keyboard.

Naga requires a lot of practice to get used to it, but after you use it for a while you just won't want to use anything else. Also, remember you can combine naga buttons with ctrl/alt/shift, which allows you to expand even more on the idea of keeping the left hand for movement.

I'm interested to hear if anyone managed to do this comfortably. I tried this during CB2, with 5,4,8,6 as W,A,S,D because 2,4,5,6 felt terrible. Still feels awkward. Holding naga buttons down for long periods of time is uncomfortable and trying to press 2 at the same time is difficult. Maybe my thumb is too small.
Don't really mind WASD'ing, though. I still have skills on 1-4 and tab, anyway. For the betas, I've mainly had my naga on numpad mode and set it ingame to f1-f12, iirc.

Maybe I will drop the money on a naga to try it out. Right now I have almost completely used up all slots on my controller and I know I will need the space when getting closer to 60. Also, I don't think holding down L1+R1 to access the F7-F12 is viable at that point lol. Thanks for all the input.

Thanks for all the info on the Naga, I just ordered one from Newegg.

I'll admit to being a clicker in most MMOs, but obviously that's not going to work here.

Hopefully it won't take too long to adjust to all those buttons on the side of the mouse.

Also, it's suprisingly small when you actually get it. I thought it was going to be this huge monstrosity that would dwarf my hand, but it's quite streamlined :D

Yea, seconding the awesomeness of the Naga mouse. The top row of buttons, 3, 6, 9, and 12, took a bit of getting used to since my thumb rests naturally between the 1 and 4 buttons, but after playing with it for the entire second CBT, you eventually get used to moving it around to reach those.

What buttons are people using for their primary abilities? I was using same order I normally do (1 most important, 12 least) not counting the main mouse buttons and tab of course.

I'm thinking of changing my top three abilities on 3-6 because of the built in nubs. 1-3 for second priority. Then 7-12 for the rest.

Also for anyone playing sorcerer, did you change your right click to something else? I put the ice missile there and put the fire circle on 3.

I've been using a G13 for about two years and love it for all games.

    http://ipkonfig.com/wp-content/uploa...use-detail.jpg

WASD set to the joystick so I only use my thumb for movement. I have one of the keys set to a script to switch between the three "M profiles" Logitech devices use; I use my pinky for this. I can hit all the keys without my hand ever hurting or getting tired. All my skills, menus, and marks are set to the G13; with room for plenty more binds.

For a mouse I use a G700 with Vent, jump, f (interact), and tab set to that. G13 + Naga would be overkill I think lol.

All this talk about Naga is upsetting, I'm still waiting on baited breath for a left handed one. Stuck using a DeathAdder until then, which is still a great mouse, but I need more buttons.

For my dodge/leapback/teleport I always change my hotkey to Mouse Button 5. I also take off the fire pillar on Sorcerer from the right mouse button.

I set mouse buttons 4 and 5 to the dodge/jump back skills. Took fire pillar or whatever off of right click, because that was retarded. I don't remember exactly what my set up was because I haven't touched sorc much since CB1, but I organized my skills into columns (like 1, 4, 7, 10) based on what category a spell would fall under. Kept something fairly important on tab and some other stuff on 1-4 on the keyboard.

I'm left handed but I'm using the Naga. It's taking me longer to get used to it than other people here because I'm also training my right hand to use the mouse. I think it's worth it though. I had the Death Adder before and I didn't like it. It also crapped out on me and had shitty Mac drivers which put me off Razer products until I bought the Naga.

I may do that. Is there a way to hotkey various buttons to specific abilities or do you have to just hotkey an action bar slot to mouse key 5? I've been trying to figure out where to put all my teleports. I had the leap back on tab, ice leap back on 4, teleport forward on 5 and retaliate on 6. Going to remove retaliate off hotkeys since I can just press spacebar when I get knocked down. My problem with this setup was that it was too easy to accidentally teleport forward. Did that at least 20 times.

This is what I had started doing by the end of beta. 1-3 were my main attacks. 4-6 were movement spells. 7-10 were AOEs. 9-12 were the rest. I'm going to have to think on this and try to have a comfortable setup next beta and get used to it through the weekend so I can completely train my thumb for the Naga.
