I have yet to really experience later levels though so I guess I can't comment on the whole leveling process completely. I've just seen how its been trimmed down since I first tested and sorta bummed is all.

I only want leveling to take as long as it takes me to learn my class. I have not enjoyed leveling since FFXI (pre TP burn).

I'm just wondering which ONE is the faster of the two. If leveling through instances is horribly slow it would be a waste of time to do it more than a few times. That's all. I'm not looking for it to be ridiculous, just comparable. If both were slowed down, I wouldn't mind either. I just like to be efficient ;P

Depends really. There are a lot of good quests outside of instances to take advantage of. But keep in mind there are also repeatables for instances, so while you're around the appropriate level, it's best to stay in instances and grind off of them. Once you've leveled to the point where it's inefficient to be grinding mobs 4 levels lower, move on to outside quests.

I miss the days of gobbie dodging in Yuhtunga Jungle -.- , in comparison to ffxiv leveling . . . i'll let you decide lol, heres to hoping I get some of the enjoyment from leveling back not just some mindless spam in Tera

11am PST, they're starting an hour early this time because of daylight savings time taking an hour away from us :D

After getting to 98% on the update they released today I get a "source file checksum error". I've tried restarting the launcher a few times (half normal and half with "Run as admin") still getting it. Only thing I have done was use the elin dats which I made sure to put back after the last CBT so that it is all the original files before this update. Any idea what causes this error?

I also used the Elin dats and removed them before my update. Everything went smoothly for me. Did you try to repair your instal?

It won't let me select the "Repair Your Install" button in the launcher settings. Its greyed out.

That really sucks. Not sure what to suggest other than seeing if their support page has info on that error.

Yeah trying their "Tera answers" page... doubt I will get any info there. Google'd it and found an old post on the official forums. The only resolution they found there was clean install lol.

Edit: Even their support page says re-install... ugh good thing I caught this today... will take a good 12hrs to reinstall with my shit internet....

I have no idea what causes it, but desperate measures for desperate times, I suposse:

Try to move the game to another computer and update from there or do it from within a virtual machine. Perhaps changing the enviroment will help.

If the error persists, then the problem should be within the folder and not with the enviroment. At this point I'd start deleting files in chunks until I could isolate the problem.

For this it would be very useful if you stoped the download at 97% and copied the temporary files so that you don't have to redownload every time (assuming the download is big, I don't know).

It's all I can think of right now.

EDIT:

Actualy, if it's the download what stops and not the actual instal, another thing you could try is get the already downloaded files from someone else, place them on the folder the launcher looks for and then run the launcher. It should install the files then.

I'll do some testing just for kicks, I'm bored. If you need the files do say so and I'll upload them somewhere.

I went ahead and am doing a clean install atm. To be honest I think I might have overwritten my backup for the client folder with the wrong files. Not 100% on that but if I did, I'd need to back it up again anyways. Just went the safe/lazy route

Alright, good luck then! Just for the record, specialy if someone has the problem again, I got the copies of the downloaded files and simply putting them in your tera folder should work.
