During open beta will there be the 7 day name restriction on remaking characters with the same name? Think I have what I want now... but need to see it ingame to be sure

There was not a delay in closed beta, and according to other people here, there is not a wait in early char creation. I don't see why they'd add one for OB/HS/Live.

out of curiosity, does there happen to be a torrent of all the Tera OB files? for some reason I'm only downloading at like 10kbps trying to update the client (wasn't in CB at all so first time). downloaded initially fine, but can't update worth a damn. I've tried diabling everything on my computer/hooking directly to the modem. I know my download speed is crap to begin with, but I know I can download much faster then 10 kbps. With their updater, I won't even hit the 30% updated mark before open beta ends at the rate it's going. Not blaming them or their updater per se, just that for some reason it's not working to well for me. I've tried both with and without P2P enabled. Without it enabled I only download at 1kbps, 10 with it enabled. Thought I'd ask about possible alternate means of getting the files for the open beta client. I'll be moving here soon, which should hopefully solve my downloading speed. Previous 2 places had great download speeds, and considering this town isn't all that big, I don't understand why this place sucks so much, but that won't help me right now unfortunately :/

In k-tera, what is the most profitable craft and/or gathering ? Since we can level these things up now for legits, i'm wondering what the most beneficial one to have is?

I think I've heard alchemy. Is there a cap or limit on crafting skillups? Can we take all to max or just one?

I haven't tried crafting at all yet. But I'm leveling alchemy just so I can make some damn pots and not have to rely solely on what I get out of eggs.

While I was fiddling with alchemy during the open beta, I found that the materials were available for the basic potions (elixir?) which gave you hp or mp or both (holistic) over a set period of time. However, when I tried to find a certain catalyst for the more advanced potions (the ones that heal your hp or mp instantly) they were not available on the vendor. I searched the brokerage too, and didn't find them there either. My assumption was that the catalyst was not included in the beta for some unknown reason. Should be in retail, I hope. Those basic elixirs have a 30s cooldown and aren't all that effective.

As to whether Alchemy is going to be the "money making" craft, who knows? As it stands, pouring money into crafting a nice blue item, then pouring more money into making it attuned, then pouring money and items into enchanting it is still not going to stack up to drops from bosses. This marginalizes crafting, which is disappointing to say the least. As it stands, it seems that the only reason to craft anything is to use it as a template, or use it as enchanting fodder. I would have thought crafting would have been a bit more productive.

Actually the best in slot gear at 60 comes from crafting, but you have to lux it to +12 for it to surpass the lvl 60 hardmode boss drops. It is incredibly expensive to do that though. I heard someone did the math and the money it would cost you to lux your gear is equal to around $2000 dollars in the real world.

I was having that same issue Elcura. I had to uninstall the whole game and then download the big patch in a zip folder. Here's the link explaining it.

I did everything in that post and it still wasn't working and giving me errors. So I then downloaded a registry cleaner, unistalled TERA, ran cleaner, reinstalled, unzipped the patch into the folder and than ran the stupid launcher. waited 15min for it to apply the bloodty thing and voila~ easy as pie.

I was paranoid with it too. Didn't do ANYTHING on my comp except wait for the damn thing to finish. Whenever I played WoW or surfed the internet with it updating, it'd always freeze or some garbage. Hope that helps
