Glorius!!!iirc, the preorder stuff as well as CE stuff are account wide.
I just made my account and I'm downloading the beta right now. Once I play around in it some I'll decide if I should buy it. Judging from everything else I'm confident this is the sort of fun I'm seeking for.
I'm installing it on my external hard disk at the moment. Current one on PC is a bit full, can't tidy up. Shouldn't bring too much performance problems... it runs WoW fine lol.
Is the install easy to move, i.e. is it possible to copy-paste the folder elsewhere and run the game, or would I need to reinstall lol
Can you change the default location for screen shots?
I'm in (Open Beta)! As a female human lancer! Weeee!
Rulke, my lancer mentor =p (you're first showed me your vids)
How do you handle the mobs sometimes jumping around? I'm having trouble adjusting to the fact my char isn't "locking on" to a mob, so I have to re-adjust my position to face the mob to block the attacks. I am sometimes struggling to do this and I don't block an incoming attack
Is there no (I looked, can't see any so far) camera option where I can lock on to the mob?
Will pre-order later![]()
Anyone have advice for mystic healing? Fiance is playing one and finding it a bitch to heal SM at lvl 26. Not sure if it's just because she's low lvl and mystics are behind the ball compared to priests or if she's doing something wrong.
She drops plenty of orbs before a boss fight, stays out of any AoE and keeps her mana up most times when she can.
What crystals do mystics use in armor/weapons?
Spoiler: show
It's tough at 26. If most of your party is 26, they'll take a lot of damage as well, it's tough to keep up. As many Brilliant(MP regen) crystals as you can equip is the standard. Should try to stay outside combat mode unless you got an MP regen charm active (comes from Sanguine Charms)
I make sure I spam that mana restoration move every time it's up but I didn't even figure out how the target heal worked properly until I was level 29, I was healing single people with it derp. Does she have the glyphs that allow 3 people to be targeted with heal and the cast reduction on the mana restore move? I don't know if these are the best glyphs but they helped me out a lot.
Yeah she has the extra person target for the heal, I told her to rely more on the thrall pet to heal herself as I think that and the main heal scale, the skittles dont from what I have read.
Using a PS3 pad here so ... what I've been doing now is getting used to centralling my camera if the mob jumps behind me and I need to turn. Works pretty well so far.
I can see what one guy mean by the combat being clunky but I';m slowly adjusting to it.
I asked in the Linkshell but just for reference I'll ask here too (I also raised a ticket)
I created a char, of course. Now, if I pre-order, would I be able to keep my Open Beta char? I can't find a definite answer anywhere, so I raised a ticket to make sure.
Is it possible to set up chain skills with a start skill that ISNT listed in the window? I don't like that I can't set one up that uses combative strike into another skill or something like that.
He can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think what he meant is whether he would be able to keep the character he used with the TERABETA key if he pre-ordered after the fact, since using different keys meant you lost old characters in previous CBTs. Whether this works he same way, I don't know.
I personally love the controller with this game. I can't imagine playing with keyboard and mouse unless it was with a Naga, otherwise you lose the ability to press certain key combinations at once, which is a huge factor in this game. Controller vs Naga, for me, would probably come down to how much I need to aim with the crosshair, which, for my current classes, is very rarely (leash on lancer, that's it).
If they didn't tie OB keys to e-mail accounts to allow ppl on the fence about the game to then buy it after OB ends, then it completely defeats the purpose of them allow OB characters to transfer... especially since most people who only play the OB, and didn't already pre-order, will not buy the game and thus take up tons of great names that will forever be unusable
Whats the guild level thing for? I leveled my guild up to level 2 but don't notice that it does anything?
Anyone on Dragon Fall? Have a 4 person static would love a berserker or slayer to fill 5th spot so no randoms.. (yay for someone putting all my pre-placed orbs before fight) don't have to join the guild or anything just friends list it up and get on teh mumble.
As great as it is to be stationary whenever possible against a BAM, you'll find they have movements that are independent of your hate control. This means you too have to be ready to move. To some degree you should be ready to move a BAM around to position it better for your DDs or to keep it away from your mages and even to help yourself out. If you recall that first video I showed; near the end of its life that Spider thing likes to back away (like Shelob in Lotr after Sam stab's her) anyway, the first few times we found it, it always backed away and towards other mobs, so I moved it (finally) so that it'd back itself into a hill instead. Just an idea of what sort of control you should/could be looking into as a Lancer. As someone already pointed out, there isn't any sort of lock on function, so it's all up to you! :D
I too play with a PS2 controller and I <3 it. If you need to, you can speed up the stick control speeds in the controller menu, I forget what I have mine at atm but I like the responsiveness for them at present. Also if a mob gets right behind you, you'll want to get used to hitting that right stick and flipping your camera in a 180. Always try to prevent this though, and subtle movements of your char during the fight can keep you where you need to be.
