Instance matcher has a 50% cooldown reduction, which works out to 30min on SM
I have questions!
1) Will you answer my questions?
2) I started playing Warrior during the open beta and got it to 24, though it was a lot of work to constantly try and dodge attacks. Is it worth it to keep going warrior?(is it a good dps class?)
3) What is the best way to go about leveling? I noticed that just following the main quest and quests nearby you suddenly end up in over your head.
4) How do you use glyph points?
I'm sure there are more but I can't think of them at the moment.
At this point, I just do the main story quests, maybe a couple others if the exp/gold seems worth my time, and then check the remaining quests to see if they offer any gear upgrades. I'm usually a completionist, but fuck that shit on this game.
Glyph points you get as you level. Go buy the actual glyphs from your trainer in Velkia, right click it from your inventory to equip it, then push K to bring up your skill screen, click the glyph tab on the top and assign your points to the glyphs you equipped. For a price you can reset your points if you want to respec them later.
You can also get an item that resets your glyph points for free. I've only seen it out of a fortune egg (combine a lucky and destiny egg). You might be able to get them from regular eggs, I just haven't seen it.
Rest is answered, so:
2) I have obviously not played end game, and most here haven't either. Even from those that have, many haven't actualy played the lv60 endgame since they left KTERA before the patch, so take this with reserves:
From playing warrior a while on the low levels, your DD capabilities are decent, but they are not exactly amazing. The edge system is supossed to enhance that a bit, but until lv54 you won't get a real skill that uses the edge points for damage; in fact, it's somewhat a stupid system to have at low level as the only skill that can spend the edge points is the AoE provoke/stun which does very low damage, so it's escencialy a tanking skill.
In my view, if a warrior isn't going to do the effort to be a good tank I'm not going to bother with them.
If you find it too much of a chore tanking on this class it probably means you'll find low maning content (even solo) with it a lot of work, so you may not even try to pull these things off with this class. With this in mind, I would probably recomend you try out Slayer, which is a very agile DD.
You'll get movement skills that allow you to bounce all over the place, stuns, dodge and relatively fast attacks (compared to other DDs, not warrior) that dish significant damage.
Are there any instance loot lists anywhere? I know there is a severe lack of sites but I'm sure someone must of posted the loot tables somewhere, lots of players seemed to know exactly what items they wanted on the runs I was doing.
Since the dungeon timers start when you're attacked or attack something then it's probably best to attack/clear the first room when doing speed runs in the dungeons like SB/SM. I know some of the later dungeons actually start with a BAM so it won't work for that, but on other dungeons it could help cut down your timers a bit.
There's http://teracodex.com/ but it's still missing a bunch of stuff.
I've heard there is a functional K-Tera dps meter overlay. Is it compatible with NA or EU Tera, or any groups working on something similar for the western releases?
Someone posted this on the official forums, thought I'd share it since I didn't know what all of these icons did:
Also, a dungeon loot list would have been nice; I couldn't find one. In the end I found myself running SM over and over not for the gear, but it was honestly fun doing it.
I always laugh when I see the monster enrage face, because it reminds me of the Aggro button face in the hilarious Onyxia wipe video.
"There is no aggro reset."
I wonder what the fire icon is.. and theirs other icons I've seen not on that list.
Yea, I think there's a stun or snared / slowed icon that's not there.
Well, I dunno if its stun/slowed snared.. one looks like some.. item broke? . I never thought too much into the stuff cept the red/orange eye icons I see alot, it tells me "OH SHIT BLOCK INC BAM SPIN ATTACK". I think I do it instinctavely now, considering most bams , when you steal aggro do some soorta 180 spin attack.
And here when I saw the rage icon I thought it was just me being uber DD on that first instance I did sunday... ignorance really is bliss lol
Eddard and I played with that during CBT. Our group had two Lancers, one would tank while the other would "dps". We thought the spinning was caused by the secondary Lancer being behind when they pulled enough aggro, so we tried putting both Lancers in front of the BAM. Despite both Lancers standing side by side, whenever the other would pull hate, the BAM would do it's spin. It seems as long as someone other than the main tank gets high enough on the aggro table, the BAM will do it's spin no matter where the person is standing. From what I could tell they always seem to spin clockwise. Right side and behind will get hit by the first spin, then the next spin to complete the 360 will hit the left side and front(speaking in direction from his normal positioning).
I have also noticed the "..." icon above monsters heads, I swear. I always thought it was funny because they'd first be all "what the hell?" then "..." at you.
When looking at distance to target, is it measured to the edge of their hitbox, or to their center?
In the movies showing the distance to hit your target, it seems that the small characters had the longest range (especially with lancer). Is is possible that the larger character bodies appear to have shitty range while elin was the best simply because the models are smaller?
Edge.
Their range does vary on race/class, though it wasn't intended.
The videos made it look like a substantial enough difference that when I go play lancer I should play a loli. I understand that this is the primary attack only, but for lancer that's fairly important in both PvE and PvP (where you'll be chasing people, and longer range would be useful) from what I understand.
Are there enough race differences that it's worth picking a race for a specific class? Or do people just pick whatever the hell they want because they like it?
It's kindof like FFXI. I liked being a taru blm, but not so much a taru tank.
Elin Lancer good choice.
Stylish.
