Thanks for the advice on avoiding PvP, I do try to stay out of channel 1 but I think sometimes I get defaulted back to it without noticing... after taking the pegasus in I'm sure the first time I forgot to change channels. The 2nd time I got killed tonight I was trying to run (on horseback) to a quest hub to log out before servers went down, and they ganged up on me just when I got there >.> I almost made it away, literally 30 sec before the servers were shut down, but they had someone else coming from the direction I was running and I got nuked...

You're right, it sounds like rape prevention advice... and it doesn't help that I'm an Elin, and the group that got me at the end did "/say Ridding TERA of Lolis one Elin at a time" >.> Wish I'd taken a SS, I didn't catch their guild name...

With the direction this game is going, do people think the Warrior class will be obsolete as a tank at end game hard mode? I played Paladin and Ninja during my stay in Vanadiel and I always preferred evasion tanking. Even PLD/NIN was fun for me during it's prime. If there isn't any demand for warrior tanks, I'd much rather roll a Slayer. I'm totally over being a meat shield, and the Lancer class just doesn't look that fun to me. If warrior is as subpar as main tank, should I just opt into learning a true DPS class?

I played Warrior to 32 during the closed beta tests and switched to Lancer for live. Personally, I felt that Warrior had a much easier time holding threat because they put out substantially more DPS than a Lancer does. A Lancer on the other is far more forgiving. Chances are, an amazing Warrior will be better than an amazing Lancer. On the other hand, a mediocre Lancer will be better than a mediocre Warrior. As for tanking itself and the PLD & NIN comparison, there are a few points I'd like to make.

First, you got to stand still as NIN. Warrior tanks actively look for the mob's tells to dodge in time. If your mouse is off by a few pixels, when you dodge, you'll no longer be in the swing range of the mob and it'll move a few steps to come after you. This may screw over melee DPS, especially the slow ones such as Berserkers who were just about to drop a fully charged attack on it and it moves out of range. (Sorry Elious)

Second, Warrior tanking is far more draining than Lancer tanking. During the closed beta tests, I was physically fatigued after 12 hours of tanking on Warrior. It requires focus while on Lancer I can just autopilot indefinitely now. Lancer tanking is incredibly predictable, your entire rotation consists of: Block, Sunder, Block, Counter, Block, Taunt, Block, Counter. Once you get here, you just start the entire rotation over again. You'll just have to modify the timing and delays between each step. If you glyph properly, your Counter and taunt alone will pull massive amounts of threats. If the mob falls over, auto-attack to get your mana back if you don't have a Mystic.

In summary: In a perfect world, Warrior > Lancer. In the real world, Lancer > Warrior. That being said, I will have both at 60, so I'll redo this analysis then

Warrior is the superior tank because it means you can have two Berserkers around to HULK SMASH all the things without worrying about armor lot congestion.

I've had a few warrior tanks in CR... alot.. don't seem to do well on the snake boss when its enraged and does the "black mist that disables skills + electric shock" namely because its range is further then the roll outa the way move.

I like them because I have less plate competition though >.>

Then they should move as soon as the tell starts. Sure I sometimes get hit with it. But 90% of the time, I'm completely safe because she gives so much of a heads up that its coming.

This is why I hate Sorcerers. Their red circle on the ground looks similar to that of monsters and years of WoW have desensitized me to the "oh shit move" reflex. The moment a red circe appears beneath my feet, I swivel my camera and charge out, which is conveniently bound to tab. Especially when Celeste thinks it's funny to centre her circles on me to watch me flee like a little girl then laugh.

best way i found to deal with the hydra enrage in CR is to just sleep or stun it when u see it talking about being tired. worked all the time, except that one time when it resisted.

was infamy debuffs on during headstart? will they be on after release?

I'm beginning to think they removed the infamy debuffs from the game. There's been a lot of back and forth about them on the official forums (I know lolOF)... But we never saw any kind of live build for it to be tested by the community.

As long as it is a PvP server you can. Transfers are free for an undetermined period of time. After that you will have to pay for them. How long they will be free though is a up in the air. So yes you can level on a different pvp server with the hopes to transfer when and if Jagged Coast is unlocked again. You just better hope it happens before they start charging for transfers.

I have to reinstall windows tomorrow when my new MB/CPU/RAM arrives, is it possible to copy the TERA install to another HD and then just copy it back when done? Are there other steps involving this? Like should I install it from online first and then without updating just copy everything over and then run the client? Are there laid out steps for this anywhere?

Yea, You can copy it to another HD, and then copy it back once you run their small installer that installs the launcher and creates the registry entries/folders. Did this for my second computer.

yes. but to create a registry file for the game you need to do the install.exe (or w/e its called) w/sets up the basic files and determines the location for the game on your specific drive. Then you can stop the DL and copy/paste
