I can't believe you just compared this games story to XI /facepalm
The combat, especially when you strt low manning or group killing the higher level BAMs or world bosses is the most fun in an mmo I've had in a LOONG while. But the games story for the most part is pretty Asain worthy (I.e terrible)

    3) What difference is this game with exemple AION and FFXI
    4) Is it a MMO where you can accomplish stuff beeing casual? or you will almost accomplish nothing?

    That's about it for now
1: its a game designed for mainly pve content, not as much as FFXI, but still very pve heavy
    2: not yet, sadly
3: Some people say its an HD aion, but i really dont think so. i like tera because you have to stay focused all (or most) of the time, i didnt have that feeling in aion or FFXI. brain afk isnt gonna work here
4: You will accomplish a lot as a casual player, but i dont think you'll +12 any of your weapons or armors tbh. +6 shouldnt be a problem though

How's the grind or the community?

I like FFXIV but problem for me atm, is that there is a lot of waiting. Too much waiting.

Go to dungeon wait there 1h till people get there

Enter, train all, wait at a spot for rest
    Train there wait again

And yet I think he's spot on. The Shadowlord saga was by no means the peak of XI's story telling and I'd say the current TERA story (as far as I've reached) is at a similar level.

TERA has some terrible voice acting and this is a killer for story telling purposes, which makes the otherwise interesting enough story look much worse. FFXI on the other hand has no such problem as nothing at all is voiced.

Also, the fact that the missions in TERA have been adjusted so people with only one finger can finish them helps contribute to the feeling of cheapness when it comes to the main story.

Regardless, going back to the main point, I do believe it's fair to say that current TERA's story is more or less on the quality of what the Shadowlord arc was.

The only difference between the two servers is that PvP servers have forced PvP (both Open World PvP through outlaw system and forced GvG when war is declared on you). PvE servers still have dueling and deathmatches. Both servers will eventually have battlegrounds. EME said they were working on consentual GvG for PvE servers.

I just saw an episode of the AU gaming show Good Game where they were talking about Tera. They (a guy and girl host) were both eluding to the fact that the game was borderline pornographic and pedophilic. Then they mentioned that this release is censored compared to the original. How much worse was it before it was censored?

Almost nothing. The main difference is the Elin used to wear something more similar to panties, very anime-like, instead of the current shorts.

There's two other changes that have caused unnecesary drama:

    - Removal of nipples from the textures of the armors. There was a single case of a castanic armor where the blurry nipples would slightly show. This was changed at the source, for all regions.

    - Removal of some blood effects on the EU version. The blood slider is hidden currently and set at a default of 1. In addition to this, the blood splatters on the screen from the prologue have been edited out. The slider is supossed to come back later on may but currently the EU client allows for manual modification of the slider via the S1Option.ini file anyway.

Oh, and btw: you must have watched very light porn in your life.

I'm only 25 atm but I can say that Tera does a much better job of letting you get right into the action and find parties. Leveling is based around doing various quests for exp that funnel you towards higher areas, at around 20 quests open up that require more than 1 player to complete. What this means is that you can put a message in the area or LFG channel and typically find someone else who needs the same quest as you, and they are short so if people have done the prerequisite quest they are still willing to redo it if people need. Also, because leveling is quest based there are discrete points during your party where you will feel like you can leave without it being a problem.

I think it is still the case where healers and tanks find parties easier, but its not like FFXI.

Not grind heavy. There are different ways to get exp, main two are the completion of quests or killings BAMs. You wont be killing crabs by different names over and over if you're rememering ffxi

Edit; if you roll a pvp server, do it because you like pvp, its the focus there and unless you are at the island of dawn (start area) or a city, anyone can attack you

I kind of disagree. It is grind-heavy in the sense that you're doing the exact same thing again and again to get to cap; grinding linear quests that are always a combination of "go here >> kill this" or "gather XX of YY item for me" or "group up and kill XX of YY BAM". If you have a static, these quests are quick and very easy, but if you're going solo, some of the quests become difficult if you aren't constantly keeping your gear up to date (which would not be a problem for anyone in Big Balls BG - go for the golds!). You're also going to wind up skipping, or asking for a lot of random pubber help on BAMs if you aren't in a static.

The good news is that, despite the linear nature and grind-centric gameplay throughout the questing phases, the combat remains fun, and you get so many rewards and drops for kills that you can make a lot of money just going through and clearing out questing zones. The XP flows at a pretty good clip as well, especially if you're in a group and are rapidly completing quests.

Killing BAMs gives good XP, but unless you have your own channel and have a good party setup, you won't be killing them fast enough to get an amount of XP that compares to quickly quest-grinding.

Add in the forgettable plot (does anyone know who, or even care who the faction leaders are?), and you have a very fun, yet still very Korean MMO.

One of the videos somewhere near the beginning of a game (i think after landing in velika) showed a "legendary" figure type person. Almost like an one man army. I can't even remember what it is now. But I think the narrator said "you might be the next (god like person)"

Lol, the story in TERA isn't even real. Pretty much what Elcura said - I remember there being some guy named Elleon, some Castanic named uh, Jellel? Oh, and Samael. Not a very memorable story at all. Then again, I play this game for its combat so it doesn't really bother me that much.

I didn't really find the game to be especially grindy until the last two levels, where exp to level dramatically increases (57 to 58 was 50~ million, 58 to 59 is 103 million, and 59 to 60 is 180 million). Compared to some of the other games where I've powered to max level, TERA is actually pretty easy.

Like mentioned, theirs LFG system. You can look at it for a group, or you can use the "automated que system" (can randomly take hours) but...! The LFG system will teleport you to the instance after that 1-2 hour wait, so you don't have to stop questing, or crafting or whatever your doing. I'd say its like an early beta warcraft match making system, if you've played wow.

Theirs also area chat (pretty much the entire 1/4th the world your in) of chat, of people asking for groups also.

The storyline fights at the lv 50 range and up, are challenging solo. Some very challenging, infact a few... i think a healer class would have an epic life and death struggle with (especially ones with a countdown timer)

And there's nothing wrong with that! Not every game needs to have a whirlwind tale of danger and romance~ This game holds its own just fine by making most every other game seriously rethink how it handles combat. I mean, seriously, its fun to play a healer. Really fun.

Think about that for a moment.

@Ezek: Grind doesn't only mean spending a long time doing something; it means doing the same tasks ad nauseum. In its truest sense (AKA. how I'm willing to spin it), the game has you doing the same thing from start to finish, gradually putting a twist on a few things, like with glorious BAMs. Its all in how much fun of a ride it is, and how well they can mask the grind. Some games do better than others in masking a grind. TERA doesn't even try to mask it, but again, its not a problem when its so much fun making the mob's numbers go way down.
