I looked for a thread, couldn't find one, thought we'd already discussed it. Either way, the show starts next Tuesday on ABC, looks like it has a lot of potential.
Slightly different trailer on ABC's website, which is, in my opinion, a better trailer. Less focus on the family, more on the suspense.

Two hour premiere tonight at 9pm. Am I really the only one who cares? Seems like this show would have at least some level of a built in audience around here.

Not much to discuss. Hopefully they don't screw it up trying to stylize with the camera going blair witch/para normal.

Just watched the first part 'cause I have to go to bed, but ehh... not sure what I think yet. I feel as if we were told way too much, and everyone was so quick to just accept what was going on, nobody really freaked out or anything. I dunno, sometimes a show needs a few episodes to get on track so I'll reserve judgement until later

I thought it was pretty good, good enough to watch another episode.
I'm not sure if it was their intent but I found it better to think of it as a mystery versus one of those shitty paranormal activity scary flicks.

I thought it was going to be shitty because I HATED paranormal activity and I hated that guys style but I thought the show was alright. It was more entertaining than I thought it would be at least and I will probably watch at least one more episode. I didn't really like how quickly they jumped into the main plot and didn't leave much mystery though. I didn't mind the little bit of shakey cam there was because most of the show utilized mounted cameras.

Its pretty much paranormal activity : jungle edition. They even had a fast forward video segment while sleeping. If you enjoy this type of movie/show its kinda interesting. Its a mini series so only 6 more episodes.

Yeah the fast forward video segment while sleeping was the part of the show that I liked the least because it was just so stupid. I will say this show is infinitely more entertaining and watchable than paranormal activity imo because it has more than 5 minutes of actual stuff happening per 2 hours of film. The pacing was so much better in this show than this guy has in his movies.

I watched it tonight. It was decent enough, worth a few more viewings. It has some definite promise, and I'm happy to stick with it through six more episodes.
Things I liked: the documentary style, which surprised me. Most of the characters were acceptable, and the acting was solid. The intros from the nature show, and tying it back to the main plot.
Things I didn't like: the characters accepted the supernatural awfully easily. A little too much deus ex machina. The Mom. Oh, and:

anybody still watching this? Tuesday's episode was amazing, glad they actually focused on Emmit's adventure for a while. Last two episodes look sick as fuck

I DVR'ed Tuesday's episode, haven't watched it yet. It has certainly been getting better, glad to know it continues to do so. If only they'd kill off the Mom character...
