I don't know why minorities take these roles.?Yes, I know. That's why we have shows like Fear Factor where people eat bull testicles.

lol
What "?"?
I remember reading Kal Penn saying he didn't mind playing terrorists (he's Indian, so I was curious about his opinion) because it is an opportunity both for his career (he played one on 24 I think) and artistically.
Both can get old quick though and then it becomes gratuitous and stereotypical.
In the documentary, 'Reel Bad Arabs', an actor said the only parts he could get were terrorist roles. One said he was tired of it and wouldn't 'be anyone's sand nigger anymore'.
Tony Shaloub(sp) ( from Monk) said he won't take those kinds of roles.
But money talks and people contribute to the stereotypes because we don't think about the big picture (assuming people agree there is one) - so an actor makes the choice like Kal Penn and it doesn't concern him. If he had to do it for years though to make a living, it might wear him down.
But once again, money talks as you said.
Bull testicles.
So let's see, Republican philosophy is to stop spending money wastefully and stop taxing corporations who create American jobs (that are outsourced to China along with manufacturing anyway) even though he spent money filming a commercial that essentially says the Chinese are taking all of our jobs that corporations backed by Dems and Repubs alike are sending to them anyway.
DON'T VOTE FOR THIS DEBBIE CHICK! SHE'S SENDING OUR JOBS OVERSEAS TO THOSE EVIL CHINKS!!!!!!
Seriously. This commercial just needed a guy with a straw hat pulling a rice cart to look into the camera and say "WE CHINESE MAKE GOOD DUCK AND SHLIMP FLY LICE YOU BUY AT CHEAP PLICE WE TAKE YOU JOBS AND MONEY".
Reminds of that HAHA America video.

Lisa Chan, Actress In Pete Hoekstra China Ad, Apologizes
"I am deeply sorry for any pain that the character I portrayed brought to my communities," Chan wrote on her Facebook page, as first reported by the Angry Asian Man blog. "As a recent college grad who has spent time working to improve communities and empower those without a voice, this role is not in any way representative of who I am. It was absolutely a mistake on my part and one that, over time, I hope can be forgiven. I feel horrible about my participation and I am determined to resolve my actions."
i for one welcome our chinese overlords.
Is that China video real or what? I'm stuck on the fence about it...
Pete Hoekstra trails Debbie Stabenow by 21 points
PPP found a direct link to the ad and Hoekstra's slipping numbers. Forty-six percent of voters said the commercial made them less likely to vote for the former congressman, while only 16 percent said it them more likely to vote for him.
given the nastiness of the current political climate and the apparent sway it holds over the average voter... this makes me really happy.
