Okay not a game but technically the series is "gaming discussion" so where better to put this. Egoraptor's new youtube series discussing, you guessed it, sequels. 3 episodes in so far, but good god, totally fucking worth it. Similar to Extra Credits in the aspect of informative discussion, but with more cursing, Castlevania and fun. Listing Megaman first despite being episode 2 because it's the best:

One of my friends showed me the Megaman one a few months ago when I went to visit them in Michigan. I almost pissed my pants laughing. I hope he starts crankin' them out a bit faster, they're fuckin' gold.

They're golden though, they do expose a deep understanding of the most important parts of game design.

Castlevania IV vid reminds me of the charged buster attack in MM4-6 ruining the appeal of the robot master weapons.

Anyone going into game design or is in game design could benefit from these videos. Too many games have the "yea I get it" and hold your hand too fucking much. Showing people how to play by doing what megaman X did is how all games should do it. Fuck the menus and reading paragraphs about how to play.

Can't wait for his zelda one.....

He makes clever and valid points which I like. But he tries to hard to make cliche "awesome humor" about krazy situations while forcing out "fucks". Ironically his Mega Man X video is about not treating people like they're stupid.

I just thoroughly enjoy the fact that they are game "reviews" by someone who actually understands game development. Egoraptor is probably the closest thing you can get to objectivity in this field. This can't really be said about 99% of other "journalists" out there.

Also, his videos' rage-cuts are mostly amusing.
