Friend played it, says he's underwhelmed. Says he just plainly expected more from the resume of every one involved in the project.

Loved it, especially the cliff-hanger. Took me around 3.5hrs so I'm good if 2nd act just doubles that. Puzzles were a bit too easy but they already said act 2 will have more difficult ones. Very early into the production, I didn't like Nathan "Bagel" Stapley's style that much, but boy did this turn out to be a beautiful and unique looking game.

Just finished Act 1. I loved everything about it. The art style was very beautiful, and the voice acting was even spot on. Even better that half the voice cast were themselves backers or friends of Double Fine. The puzzles were a little easy but was still fun classic PnC Adventure gameplay.

    Spoiler: show
I should have seen the ending coming, but I was satisfied none the less. Guessing Act II will give more history on how the sacrifice got started with talk between Vella and Mom.

Usually not a fan of puppetry animation, but the game looks pretty damn fantastic in motion. Finished Shay's side of the story at little over an hour, so I hope Vella's is a tad longer in this act, as I'm really enjoying the attention to detail, the voice work, and that soundtrack.

Puzzles might as well be non-existent though, at least on Shay's side of things. Kinda breezed through it all without problems.

Shay's side is pretty straight forward. I had some trouble on Vella, switched to Shay, finished that and switched back. It surely felt that Vella's part was longer too.

Act 2 funded, will release later this year
Broken Age: Act 2 has been fully funded, according to Double Fine boss Tim Schafer.

Speaking with GI International, Schafer said the team’s plan to split the game into two parts to fund final development paid-off in the end.

“We’ve made enough that we can make the second half of the game for sure,” he said. “And we’re not done making it to all the platforms because we haven’t released it on iPad yet.

“I feel that’s going to be a really interesting platform for adventure games. It’s such a fun place to play point-and-click graphic adventures, and so many people have them. That’s exciting to me.”

In January it was announced Broken Age would no longer be released through Steam Early Access as planned “for various logistical reasons.” Double Fine opted instead to release Act 1 as a standard Steam release with a Season Pass granting access to Act 2 upon completion.

Act 2, the conclusion of Broken Age, will ship later this year and is also in development for Android, iOS and Ouya.

Part 2 coming April 28th, Changes to Part 2 detailed, also Broken Age Complete will be available the same day for $24.99
Schafer discussed changes to the controls due to working with the Dualshock 4, specifically mentioning the lightbar changing colors depending on who you are controlling in the game. He also clarified that while in the first act you can play through each character’s story without switching, in the latter half of the game that won’t be the case.

Played it. It was pretty good. Had some trouble on the more bullshit puzzles, but whatever.

The second act goes very much old school point and click. You will need to get out a piece of paper and make drawings and charts to solve things without brute forcing them.
