He actually was overpowering him towards the end. Mace Windu was the only jedi to use Form VII: Vaapad to not turn to the dark side. If he noticed Anakin's shatterpoint instead of just Palpatines he probably would have defeated him. But his arm got severed from Anakin and then was open to full blast of chain lightning.

pretty much this. Windu was one of the few that had the ability for Shatterpoint. Also, Vaapad was the only reason Windu stood a chance against Palpatine, since he let himself "Enjoy" the battle
As samalis said, he concentrated on Anakin's shatterpoint, his fall to the darkside would not have happened and Palpatine would have probably died, even though Palpatine was considered of the most powerful
Sith Lords of all time.

Randomly, I just thought, if she does end up enjoying the films, you should have her watch the Ewok movies afterwards.

I saw those as a little kid even before seeing any of the real star wars movies because they used to play the crap out of them on the Disney Channel lol.

Definitely 4-5-6 first and then maybe 1-2-3. I don't really think episodes 1 through 3 were that bad as movies go. The biggest problem was the second half of the series wasn't aimed at anyone besides prepubescent boys. Certain parts of 1-2-3 have some decent redeeming moments but for the most part they were designed to keep the merchandising train going. A lot of supposed canon stuff got destroyed by 1-2-3 that's another reason I think people were pissed about them.

I just wish they had gotten the writers of the original Clone Wars cartoon to do the movies.

Anakin was clearly a marauder in annihilation spec but then got nerfed by obi-wan, qqed and rerolled to jugg.

4-5-1-2-3-6 is a very good order if she's never seen anything. The ewok movies if you want to troll the fuck out of her and make her wonder why anyone took starwars seriously afterward.

I watched EP1 in 3d Yesterday. Epic as fuck. Fuck that haters, the darth maul fight scene & the pod race was badass. Date knew every single word that came out of Jar Jar's mouth, almost smacked her in the race.

If she really doesn't know anything about Star Wars, she won't view it the way you do, not carry the opinions the rest of us have, which is why it doesn't matter what order she views it in. 1-6, being new to the franchise, won't hurt her, but so long as the order doesn't utterly confuse her, it's good.

I was recently choppin' it up with a lady, not young, who'd never paid Star Wars any attention until Episode I's 3-D release. She's absolutely bananas over it.

I can't help thinking that if she actually loves the first, she'll adore 2 and 3, and go crazy over 4-6.

Just went and watched ep 1 today at the theatre. I def think people are too cranky sometimes. Had a really good time getting to see it on the big screen again. Though it reaffirms (for me) the idea of showing the films as 456123. There are so many little jokes and references in 1 a new watcher would miss out on.

In any case though, I hope when you do show her, you do it soon and take her at least to see 1 on the screen whenever you get to that point (depending on what order you decide to do it in). It's always better on the big screen so might as well seize the opportunity while you can.
