Internet Connectivity Issue -- "Limited Access"

I'm having a problem connecting to the internet which I'm certain is only an issue with my laptop (other computers connect fine through the router). The problem stared about 2 weeks ago while I was abroad (Iran, heavily filtered internet)

I constantly am told "Limited Access" or "No network access," and am not able to connect to the internet/my router. I can neither connect through my wireless card nor through an ethernet cable plugged directly into my router.

I'm running Windows 7, can't seem to find a fix. Unfortunately, my virus scanner (McAfee) says it needs internet to run a scan...

Anyone have this problem / know how to solve it? I'm guessing it's either (a) a virus of some sort, (b) a corrupt file, or (c) a hardware issue.

I doubt it's (c) because when I restart my computer, I connect with ease and can access the internet for about 5-10 seconds.

    Any help would be appreciated!

"Limited connectivity" rang a bell, so I looked at some old posts I made on other forums: http://forums.guru3d.com/showpost.ph...53&postcount=5

How I solved my own Unid network/limit connectivity thing. TLDR is that the problem was on another PC on the network, and it was the Nintendo Wifi Connector from my girlfriends DS. No idea if this related to you or not, but that's all I can contribute

I had this same problem a couple years ago when I would take my laptop back and forth between my GF's house and mine. I think what I ended up doing was using a static IP instead of automatic and it fixed it, but I can't remember for sure. Worth a shot anyways.

Thanks for the help -- issue solved. Though to be honest, I have no idea what in particular solved it. I uninstalled McAfee, ran a scan using ASW, put in a static ip address. All but disconnecting other computers.

I'm fairly certain it was either that pos McAfee or some virus that I cleaned.

    McAfee probably installed a firewall.
