    Baffled as to why people don't bring BLUs to Nyzul regularly anymore. Dominating killspeed on EP~DC monsters, utility via blue magic, and absolute self sustainability.

    Probably the same reason I saw the same thing in orginal. There are too many sucky blus. Oh and people are idiots. Do you know how many times I heard "But blus need mp, without a mage however will they do anything!?!"

    BLU in the original Nyzul is not the BLU of lvl99. You've got two quick stuns, improved MP management, a powerful sword WS, White Wind for some synergy with your healer, self-survivability and various damage types at your disposal which is easily enough to displace a standard DD.

    But I guess hitting stun macros is hard.

    Oh I'm not saying I agree lol. Hell in the original blu tore stuff up. Me and my group always brought 2-3 blu and even without outside refreshes we still did so much better than using the "good" nyzul jobs. It didn't hurt that most of those other jobs rarely got a hit in when we'd kill most everything before he engaged except on rooms that spread out so much that no one else was with the sam we usually took too. Now it's much much better largely for the same reasons as it was good before but even more so.

    Same meat head DD mentality as always that people have. BLU is amazing in this.

    Yes but none were used.

    Only did one run, a shout group, nothing spectacular in my opinion in term of gear (MNK Vere, BLU Almace, SAM Amano, COR Arma, THF Twash) but the teamwork was mind blowing for a shout group. We reached floor 82 without too much troubles but timed out on it. One guy used fillmode/apradar but he barely exploited the full potential of it. Others were legits.

    I find this thing rather fun, mostly because of nostalgia toward Nyzul/Aht Urhgan and I think it's fine as it is, at least for now.

    Didn't fight any boss, had 3 lamp order, 2 lamp register, 3 kill all enemies, 2 kill specific enemies and one kill specific enemy, I believe. No special NM/drop encountered, unfortunately :/ As for the jump between floors, we spammed ??? but I don't remember the exact value for each. Between +2 and +9 though, never above.

    I'd think sudden lunge would be invaluable for a lot of the NMs. How squishy are the bosses, i.e. is it worth using blu spells on them, or better off *just* meleeing?

    So, I wrote a matlab script that simulations N random jumps assuming that they don't let you wrap around and random jump to floor 1. It does 100k reps, and this is what it finds:
    11 : 0% chance (actually 1.16*10-8%) :: Distribution is centered at 61.5
    12 : 0% chance (non-0, but even at 100,000 reps there were no occurrences) :: Distribution is centered at floor 67
    13 : 0.04% chance :: Distribution is centered at floor 72.5
    14 : 0.54% chance :: Distribution is centered at floor 78
    15 : 3.5% chance :: Distribution is centered at floor 83.5
    16 : 12.7% chance :: Distribution is centered at floor 89
    17 : 30.3% chance :: Distribution is centered at floor 94.5
    18 : 52% chance :: Distribution is centered at floor 100

    If your group averages 15 floors per run (1 floor every 2 minutes), you have a 3.5% chance to get to (or surpass) 100. Keep in mind that this assumes there is a cap at floor 100 and it doesn't let you wrap around but just drops you at the floor 100 boss. For a well-polished group with good teamwork, I think one floor every 2 minutes (on average) is possible. Such a group would handicap themselves if they were satisfied with floor 80 and accepted single-floors sometimes to get there, though, so they would actually get to floor 100 less than 3.5% of the time. There almost certainly have not been 100,000 reps of Nyzul Isle on the servers yet (and may never be, considering each player can only partake in one rep per RL day and each rep consumes 6 player's tags). Also, because players don't jump a constant number of times each run, the above distribution needs to have some other distribution specific to your group laid over it.

    tl;dr: Regardless how good you and your friends are, floor 80 gear is probably the best that you should ever assume you'll get. Floor 100 gear's set bonuses are a joke unless there is some kind of major gimmick.

    Reworked assuming that you go to 80 and dead-end there whenever you have the chance:
    14 jumps = 0.22% chance
    15 jumps = 1.1% chance
    16 jumps = 5.7% chance

    Keep in mind that 16 jumps means 17 floors completed.

    Assuming there is no cap and you can wrap around unless you take single floors, but you don't stop for 80 at all:
    14 jumps = 0.2% chance
    15 jumps = 1.3% chance
    16 jumps = 4.7% chance
    17 jumps = 12.1% chance
    18 jumps = 23.7% chance

    Why bring a BLU when you can bring a SAM who can self-buff, sleep, cure, stun, put shadows up, and nuke fodder mobs to hell?

    BLU can pump out a shitload of damage on weaker stuff and so can SAM. Its no big deal really.

    You know countering is less than 5% of your total damage, right? Not sure where you're getting "so much less dmg over time" from"

    Has anyone tried mixing old Nyzul and Neo Nyzul? Alternating runs and whatnot?
    Perhaps the old Nyzul could influence the new Nyzul, and would make the 30 minute cooldown on running Neo Nyzul less retarded.

    They said the timer was to "reduce congestion", so I doubt they'd want you entering the same zone just with a different objective. It's probably like MMM, too many people in the zone mucks it up.

    In before a ToAU VW mob that Doomvoids you into Nyzul and he doesn't use it if there are too many people inside.

    Edit: And I just got a sickening premonition that my joke is probably going to come true and it's the way to hit floor 100...
