Lol nvm it was 91 floor. But it happened several times after that.
That's actually very lucky though. From 91 you only have a 1/8 chance of jumping to 100. The next best thing is hitting either 98 or 99 which gives you a 100% chance of hitting 100 on the next jump.
Yeah, I'm sorry, but going 91-99 isnt trollface at all.
Going 95-97-99 is trollface.
No. Even the best groups with the most success rates have openly admitted right here, in this thread, that the current luck based, floor jump system, is complete and utter horseshit. And way to assume I have no NNI gear, despite being capped out on it.
It's you who's the idiot. Don't even try to act like you think the current NNI system isn't shit. You'd have to be a complete retard not to agree that it's current state has its flaws.
Yeah it's dumb when you go 91>95>97>99 but it makes the event more of a thrill when you actually get the win. Sometime the system dicks you, sometimes it doesn't. You can drastically increase your win ratio by A. not sucking B. not taking people who suck C. good coordination and party layout.
Yeah it has its flaws, what system doesn't? The event is winnable, without fleehacking, that's all that really matters.
Trollface is going 96->99 with a PDT custard, WS restricted, with 3 SAMs.
Yes, that happened.
If SE's original intentions worked out how they hoped, then yes. It was designed so that great players could reach F100, good players could reach 80, average players could reach 60 etc. and the gear they got was the gear they deserved. Sadly SE didn't bank on everyone just wanting F100 drops and not giving a shit about 80 or 60.
If the majority of people aimed for their realistic goal, be it 100/80/60 instead of just focusing on 100, they would undoubtably enjoy it a lot more. Sadly, even very mediocre players are of the mentality of 100 or gtfo.
I dont see why SE would think people would set goals at inferior gear
Really, it's done in other MMOs all the time to great success, but there a significant difference in how its presented. If I wanted to explain it I'd have to get into a lot of game design and psychological jargon I'm sure nobody cares to hear, and I'm sure most of you have played other MMOs enough to know what those superficial, albeit key differences are.
I actually have fun doing Neo Nyzul, despite the stupidity of random number generators. RNGs didn't stop me from enjoying salvage even though it was depressing seeing the turtle drop jack shit for the 50th time.
Actually, I'd argue that Neo Nyzul has more lasting appeal than that event, because Neo Nyzul is different each time. It's the allure of that 100-floor dungeon we find in a bunch of RPGs.
Nyzul was the only fun/enjoyable thing that kept my group playing. 5/6 of the group 'quit' directly after we were finished with Nyzul. (7 months on and 3 have just started playing again, 2 remain quit)
What was one of the first things I did after returning? Help people get 100 clears.
My win rate since returning is actually higher than before I quit (i.e. pre lamps nerf)
I don't understand the QQ about it not being fun or too hard. Yes it can screw you but with the caliber of gear available even a 5-10% win ratio would have been fair (given all 6 people get a drop). As it is, a competent group can cap in a matter of weeks.
Given how good the gear is, the time spent/reward ratio on Neo Nyzul is actually pretty damn high.
it actually is fun and thrilling once you get your first 100 clear and manage to get up there repeatedly. Yes it was frustrateing at the beginning, but you can get there with good people and a team that sticks together and improves. The only thing we used was lamp dats and fillmode (most didnt even use fillmode). but it is definitly doable without those 2 things, since we had some wins with 2-5 min to spare. anyone who claims that you need some form of speedhack/Clipper to win this consistently plain sucks period. We got to the point where we won 2-3 out of 4 runs (mostly 2, but 1 at least unless we got totally screwed).
