It's easily puggable, have almost all 15 pieces on my mule and all I've done was join shouts on it, usually win 2-3/4 or 5, depending of everyone has captain or not.

Wow Shenrien, that's pretty impressive. Being able to get almost 15 pieces for a mule when winning 2-3 of your 4-5 run blocks just in the last 14 days. Kudos to you.
On the tiny chance that that actually happened since the embrava nerf and they were actual pugs and not buying from a group via shout, then my sarcasm can be replaced with genuine amazement because that's pretty impressive.
On the more likely explanation that your mule got most of the pieces before the embrava nerf, then that's a useless post, as they were obviously talking about post-nerf.
Regarding if it is winnable by pugs now, if you aim for 80 instead of 100 it should be, if the players are good pickup players. As before nerf, if they suck it's going to be considerably harder. If people aim for 80 instead of 100, it shouldn't be any harder (could quite plausibly be easier) than pre-nerf.
:/ Actually no my mule didn't start getting the crap until after the embrava nerf as the mule only has bard, black mage, thief @99, having dharp and ghorn the mule is primarily on bard at all times unless I need it for other uses th, other mage procs in vw, and what have you. I could never be bothered to fully level sch on the mule let alone skill up enhancing beyond what I had available to me @ Lv.75 WHM and then gear it for NNI.
If NNI is the next logical gear upgrade path for me for my jobs, and I haven't done any Nyzul Isle since 75 cap, with people taking REM players and failing to get to even floor 80..is it wise for me to just go ahead and skip NNI gear and aim for something else?
Play the mage jobs in NNI if you're worried about your DD capabilities, some nyzul gear isn't really replaceable right now. I wouldn't skip it.
Well if you feel that your DD are not good enough(honestly not really an issue if you have competent people and a little luck) you could take up BRD and get minimal gear for it so you have another option for nyzul. Very easy to skill up, and you could get by with very little gear.
I specifically outfitted my once ill-geared SCH to enter and complete Neo Nyzul Isle, and I have completed all three sets, even though I don't have any heavy armor jobs to put Phorcys on. My main, meanwhile, is MNK.
While SCH isn't the slam-dunk option it once was, as Dark noted, you can level BRD without much difficulty specifically for this purpose. If not that, you can make your BLU better. (It does not have to be current endgame-level "perfect.") If you don't want to do either of those things nor anything like it, the answer to your original question is still "no."
So basically I either level another job I don't want to play just to get gear for the ones I do, or I skip it? I won't have competent people or luck because its FFXI and without an endgame LS that doesn't happen often. Not trying to be combative, but the options you've given me pretty much tell me to find some form of alternative gear or to hang up the jobs I have and start new ones. I'll admit that the jobs I chose to take to 99 were heavily aimed at abyssea content, but now that I'm out of abyssea..no atmas, no cruor buffs, and no 2Her/Mage jobs..I'm kind of thinking I'm being made to start over. Guess I'll have to deal with it. :/
I don't understand why you feel like you need to hang up any job for this. You level a job for a specific purpose and get it bare minimal gear so you can clear the content. It's simply making use of a tool that requires the least effort on your part. You can get a march horn, af3+2 hands, and pretty much fill the rest of your gear with fast cast or song cast time down and basically be set.
I guess it's just because it's not fun to me to level up/gear up a job just for one event, a job that I have no interest in playing in the first place.
Not fun no, but the alternative means of getting your gear will be a lot more difficult. You don't really even need to put much effort into gearing the job up though, could literally only farm af3+2 hands and cheap AH gear the rest.
Let's assume for a minute that I decided to level up BRD just for NNI. How do I get into it if so far shouts are either non existant, or are asking for "veteran brd or sch" only? I don't have an LS, and I am not experienced enough to start one. Haven't done NI since 75 cap and I quit a couple times since it was raised.
After embrava nerf we went BRD SCH 4xDDs.
I find that the biggest issue is DD can't be self sufficient, even Apoc DrK when they come to Undead Floor with NM...
I think I'm more leaning back to 2x ScH 4x DDs setup.
As SE said they nerf the level of mobs per-80. And we do find that it is easier from 1-80. Once pass 80, BRd songs doesn't really push as much as Embrava can help. Mainly Regen from Embrava plus Regen V, this is actually giving DDs a lot more self-sufficient to survive.
At Floor 1-80, SCHs split spells to give as much buffs as possible to DDs. DDs should be surviving with minimal cure from running SCH.
SCH Embrava can now last around 5 mins. Either you floor jumped into 80+ or at 10mins marking, SCH Embrava to speed thing up. Second SCH Embrava after 5mins. That more or less giving to last 10mins super buffs to floor 100 boss.
For one: don't ask questions if you're going to refuse the answers. Everyone has been honest in their response to your question about whether you should skip NNI gear or not. Your original question should have been what you've since posted in the "What's Better?" thread, that being: I am not going to do NNI, so I want to know: what I should wear instead? Instead, you asked a question, got an answer, and started being shitty and painting a hopeless picture because you didn't like that answer. Well, that doesn't change it. Ask a question that more accurately reflects your unwillingness to do something next time.
Secondly, and to provide a serious answer to your probably sarcastic question, if someone asks for a veteran BRD or SCH, join them anyway. Don't tell them you're not a veteran. It's a PUG. You won't make friends. So what? Go and be a failure. If you can't be arsed to build a group over the course of however many hours it takes, go burn some bridges and learn through tough love. You can also read through this very thread about what strategies people are using so you don't go in completely ignorant. In the end, you'll know how to do what you need to do.
I guess I just didn't like being told "you can only do NNI" in so many words. No offer of an alternative. Though, yes, I should have asked originally what I posted in the What's Better? Thread. I realized this during the posts in here which is what prompted that post. Sorry for being so combative when you were both just offering me help to what was originally asked.
Since you already have Abyssea equipment, you essentially already have the alternative, which is why not much else was offered. Anything beneath that would likely be cruor gear or pre-Abyssea equipment. There are possible side-grades, but again, you are basically already at or near a good non-NNI place, gear-wise.
My suggestion, Nishida, is to make a thread on ffxiah looking for members for a NNI static. Pick the people you want to join from the replies. If your mnk is well geared take that to NNI. If not, it really is very easy to level a job now (it will take you 3 evenings of leveling tops). The thing about the update/nerf is that it's a little easier for non ideal setups to win. Sure you'll still do better with REM 2 handers and an emp brd but just about anyone can make it to floor 80 now... and can reach 100 on good jumps.
Also, BLU is a perfectly acceptable DD in NNI, assuming decent gear and a competent player. Certainly not going to be a top-tier DD, but comes with some nice side-bonuses like stuns for some of the nasty NMs, etc.
If you use the setup: 2strong DDs +SCH, 2 self-reliant DDs, BRD at rune
Then BLU fits very very well in that second Group. He can also pack some nice spike damage on NM, take full advantage of the new weaknesses system and so much more. A BLU with Almace is a really nice option for NNI imho.
