SAM is starting to get strong again (obviously has to be his favorite job class, he is JP) and WAR and MNK are getting nerfs again.
The interim team must have really wanted their position in the company to stay cause they did a hell of a job. They buffed jobs that needed buffing badly (nin, mnk, war on HNMs,sch, blm(top nuker without any debate now),whm(finally top healer). BLU is a beast and mythic DRG is a monster. Then they didn't touch jobs like SAM or RDM since they were Overpowered already.
Abyssea was the best thing to ever happen to ff11 even though they overkilled it with the brews crour price. Other then the 200,000 brews, the event was the go to for everything.
Upgrading your armor to +1 was fun and took some decent time and the stats were great! Then you upgraded slowly to +2 and the stats were miles ahead of the situational gear we got all these years. Then you did some trials for the empyrean and empyrean grinding was time consuming. It took me 1-2 months. But I had fun doing it and I duoed the damn chloris, sandworm for vere with my friend (including pops, proc rate and TH). I enjoyed dropping Rani down to 5% without any brews with the JP before he went apeshit. I was MNK and I enjoyed being tank on EVERYTHING for the first time in my life. Was super exciting and I felt like people depended on my job class to stay alive. Showing off with 6000HP in scars of abyssea was also fun.
-For the first time in my ff life, I enjoyed doing EXP parties! Nomore boring greater colibre or skeleton grinds in KRT. The exp was fun with 18 ppl and it never got old. It was fun, it was/is QUICK, and I enjoyed making gil and getting NM pop items while exping/meriting. The fact that victory smite was so powerful made popping each exp mob that much more fun too. Not once did I feel like I was grinding in abyssea.
I did not get stressed out doing af3+1 af3+2 or my empyrean weapon. Didn't get stressed out on shinryu or the caturae. Didn't have to worry about bots or 5% drop rates or never spawning NMs (like eastern shadow in fei yin, or KB). I didn't have to rely on LUCK at all in any of abysseas events.
Most importantly, I flag up and get an INVITE ASAP in abyssea regardless of what job I was on. I could even be on a level 36 dancer and get an invite as long as I key-whored. You didn't need to rely on JPs or a certain timezone to exp and you didnt NEED a BARD like you did with greater colibre.
I wrote ALOT but IDGAF because abyssea was the shit and brought friends and enemies together with each other. There was nomore HNMLS badblood. Everyone helped each other. I teamed up with Tigue for crying out loud and I hated him.
Nyzul was one of the best events and they blew it bad with neo-nyzul. Nyzul had the perfect progression goal process that is great for MMO games. They should have just did disc floors 101-200 and applied the same standard Nyzul isle rules.
People don't do alliances that much anymore and Idk if Legion will fail or flop if it requires 25+ people to clear. We all played this game for almost 10 years and alot of us have gotten busy over the years as we are mostly all adults now, and some are probably married and have kids now. Alot has changed and alot of our times are busy now. That could also have to do with the game dying besides just being an old game.
