Assuming some really good luck (like 35 every 20th turtle) 1.5 ppl would get it in 1 month of spamming Salvage 100 min per day. ONE and a HALF BODY with pretty good luck. EDIT: Not even a body but 33% of it (I personally went 1/20 on some 25 after getting 35).
I edited my post with (for me personally). I dont know how you can claim that I'm not being logical when I am stating thats my experience with the event. I've probably done 1000 runs or something total (maybe more who knows, I dont count them), 0 bodies from any NM, but probably made like 6-7million in drops. At this point in the game gil really doesnt do much for me. For me personally I cant think of another event ever in this game, where I have put the same amount of time into it, and literally been rewarded nothing, that has benefitted my character.

Well my friend was 1/97 body from turtle. Took him 6+ months since they needed to do other zones too. 1000 runs is around the same as 100 salvage (counting total time) so even with such a bad luck like yours its still far from a bad luck with salvage especially when like I said you fail to understand one thing. When 35 at Salvage finally dropped it was only one item when in VW im telling you about a chance to get body for EVERY person at event because if we would talk just about % of drops from event then its not really a comparison. I see a body from VW something around 1 per 4 fights but lets call it 1 per 10 fights. Thats on avarage 1 body per 100 min of event. 35 would need to have 100% drop rate to beat that and still you would need 25 ^^

From my experiences, I respectfully disagree. Before the 75 cap I did Salvage alot, and had something like 23 completed pieces and seen something like 380 pieces complete. I've done both events alot in my opinion, and never felt that salvage was as frustrating(SSR did suck, BR too at times) or constricted progression as much as voidwatch does. I'm done though, this threads about Nyzul, not Voidwatch/Salvage.

380 pieces? Thats like over a year o daily Salvage with 100% drop at one 35 each run. Not to mention some drops goes to ground. You either lying us or yourself or both. One 35 per week was good luck at 75 salvage. One piece finished every 2 weeks was considered good.

Its over a long period of time, no doubt and many runs. And yeah I lied, some of the last few pieces squeeked into the 80 update. Alot of our progress was here:

    http://equilibriumls.forumotion.net/...ium-adventures

You can look at the dates. Most pieces are done days apart, not 2 weeks apart.

At start you will make them with few days apart because none has nothing but soon you will end up farming specific pieces and wont see them for weeks. Unless you changed crew every month.

EDIT: I see that correctly or you have like 300 ppl in that linkshell? Not surprise you have seen 380 pieces with so many ppl doing salvage lol.

Multiple groups ran inside of linkshells and interchanged members when they were going to zones that could complete their pieces. It was efficient and that's how people could gather so many pieces over time. Not difficult to comprehend.

I am considering making a thread for "Nyzul Uncharted actual information" and changing this one to "Nyzul Uncharted discussion, derailment, and other stupid shit".

i.e. Get this thread back on track before it attracts Auntie's attention.

Actually, pace of piece completion starts out slow and speed up. Why? Because generally, the early 35 pieces you get, you still need 15 and 25 items. Especially in the case of 25 items from bosses, you might spam a zone for several days doing NMs but focusing on boss, the boss would always drop 25 items, just maybe not the ones you need at first. Eventually, you would get to a point where most people regularly involved had 2/3 of tons of pieces, so that when a 35 dropped, they would be done. I know I had 7 35 pieces completed and many more 2/3 sets of pieces sitting in storage waiting for 35. Any totally static group would eventually all have complete sets of 15/25 pieces, at that point only needing to farm 35s.

Add: Aren't you the guy who claims that Neo-Nyzul is really exciting and interesting? Salvage was 100 times more enjoyable to me at that time than either version of Nyzul has ever been to me. I think most people who hated Salvage hated it because they tried it a few weeks and didn't get any 35 pieces and got butthurt and quit. I saw plenty of people who started out with bad luck end up completing back to back to back pieces later on. It all evens out in the end. The only thing about Salvage I didn't like was doing assaults for points.

so if u have war blu sam mnk lvled its expected to be god tier with 99 emp, but gearing thf is a waste of time cuz its a shitty job regardless so lol.
Maybe if you took your head out of your ass and actually played with a thf who gears more than TH mule youd see they actually do put in comparible numbers.

The thread is called simply Neo-Nyzul Isle. Apparently, only like 5 groups are taking it very seriously. The majority of people only have bad things to say about it. Oddly enough, a battle ensues between those two groups, on an internet forum of all places.

Regardless, I find it odd to suggest the thread isn't on topic enough when the topic isn't very clearly defined. Is the proper decision to A. tell the majority to shut up, who are commenting that it is a garbage system and expressing their general disgust with it? Or B. clear it out so there is plenty of room in 3 weeks, when 1 of the 5 groups who actually cares about it, succeeds at getting kicked out of floor 100 before being able to lot drops?

Over the years you have been one of the leading posters in complaint threads over Kings content, Cop Missions, and Salvage, and probably other content that I can't think of offhand.

Not very clearly defined, eh? Being off topic for 20 pages is different than having an undefined topic.

My bad! I guess it has been a bit since the thread was started, I have at least read through it as it grew. I think the thread is probably doomed at this point then. 3) is pretty clearly answered, as there is no gimmick. The others require people to first do the content more, and then care enough afterwards to post it somewhere. But fair enough, people have the option of complaining elsewhere. I'm afraid that the thread is doomed from this point on to drop down the first page quite a bit and maybe beyond, until you and Atoreis have some experiences in Neo-Nyzul that are much different than what has been seen so far.

Ato hasn't experienced it, people who have put effort into it have got to Fl80+, Byrth and I got to 60 in a good but not great setup the 2nd run we did. It's mostly people 1) Crying about hacks 2) Trying to make the event sound worse than it is

Salvage had RNG drop rates, this event has RNG doyoufightthebossrates

A good group would clear as many NM's as possible in Salvage, and a good group will clear 15F+ a run in this event. There's even going to be a ticket system ffs.

Yeah I think that ticket system will be the saviour of this event.

Still, I don't think it is that enjoyable. Claiming that just having fun is what matters over getting drops quickly is an analysis I can agree with. However, saying that this is some awesomely fun and exciting content.... I don't know, I guess I'm crazy for thinking I could be doing anything else in the game or outside of it rather than participate in content that, to me, isn't interesting, fun, or balanced.
There was a time that I participated in terrible endgame content just because I wanted to chase that carrot and have the best gear possible. Luckily, I no longer care in those situations that require me to participate in shit that I don't find enjoyable at all. In other words, I have reached the opposite conclusion about this event than Atoreis, but we have reached those conclusions for the same reason, he thinks that it is great wonderful exciting fresh gaming fun, I think it is a stale turd that I would be upset to have stepped in, therefore I will avoid it like the plague.

It looks like the only two types of content that will come from 11 in the future is super RNG content, where insane luck and drop rate issues fuck you over, or the opposite, super grind item collecting and magian quests that are not in any way hard or challenging, just time consuming tripe meant to keep you busy as long as possible.

Ato you highly exaggerate how difficult Salvage drops were to obtain. I'm like maybe 3 pieces away from having them all, and I got all of it before they updated drop rates. Going a week and not getting a 35 seems highly unlikely, so unlikely I doubt it ever occurred once with my group even when we did nothing but SSR spamming. Also, what dropped in Salvage typically went to the right person instead of a mule or someone who already had the item. Low drop rates exacerbate this problem because the chances of never getting an item increase with item rarity if the ratio of attempts to drop rates is conserved (i.e., trying 10 times for a 1/10 drop results in fewer catastrophic failures than going 100 times for a 1/100 drop.)

It always seemed to me that people that really bitched about salvage drop rates were the ones who didnt go 5-7 times a week.

Salvage had a feeling of "hurry and do as much as you can" that worked, unlike Nyzul Isle. Intelligently unlock equipment based on what jobs could get the most out of the slot was an interesting thing as well. I also enjoyed trying to guess when brainjack would happen, and try to overnuke on blm and pull hate so that I would be charmed, rather than a mnk or whm. Every group I think had slightly different valid strats that they made work for them, based on what jobs they had available. After awhile, most quality groups, coupled with extensive experience, could do full clears of most salvage zones with a solid 6 man groups. Luck was still involved with certain NMs, but there was some reward for the effort and skill your group had, since more effectively clearing zones and more NMs per run meant more drops overall.

Nyzul in comparison is just embarassing trash. I like how on the official forums a lot of japanese players are coming over to the english side and saying shit like "yo, do you guys think this shit sucks as much as we do?!"

Add: I was looking forward to salvage being updated, but the poor quality of Nyzul has me worried about how bad they will fuck up what was my favorite event in FFXI.

This, for me except replace salvage with limbus, I consider dynamis to be a positive update, and I consider nyzul to be a total failiure.
50% chance the following updates are gonna blow = >.<
