And you attribute that level of success to having a BST? What situations do you encounter that make it worth having someone come BST instead of another DD job? The ability to run off and kill stuff on kill all floors without healers following you around? Having pets tank on "No White Magic" boss floors?
BST if geared properly is a solid DD that requires little to no healing, ruinator and a strong pet will make them keep up to most DDs when atk isn't an issue.
Been following thread solidly, so I'm pretty sure of the answer, but any confirmed lv. 100 drops yet?
I don't know how people are pulling off a consistent 80-100 floors now. I've tried 4 times and the best we did was floor 36. And we always get shit floor warps. Our first run was like this :
1 > 3 > 6 > 9 > 11 > 14 > 17 > 20 > 22 > 26 > 28 > 30 (ran out of time).
The other times were just as bad. Lots of 2 floor up warps. Is anyone for certain if floor progression makes a difference in the changing the amount of floors warped when using ??? floor warp?
bad luck and bad working together ish your having
if you look back to my last post of 4 attempts and count the amount of floor progression we achieved
you only managed 11 floor progression, to reach 100, with perfect luck you need 11 jumps 9 floors each time, you can get further if you increase the # of floors you do..
my group in 4 runs did 18 floors each run, so even without amazing luck we were able to reach unfortunately above 100 twice, and 80 last 2 times, sadly timed out on 80 last run, that was really bad luck. but with 18 floor progression you only need an average jump of 5.5 to reach 100.
DNC if geared properly is a pretty solid DD that is completely self sufficient
THF if geared properly is a pretty solid DD that requires little to no healing due their amazing evasion on EP mobs (top off with regen4 every new floor), and should be brought regardless because of their higher TH since you're here for drops.
NIN if geared properly is a pretty solid DD
WHM if geared properly is a pretty solid DD on EP mobs
Melee RDM if geared properly is a pretty solid DD on EP mobs
However, SCH, under no situation should ever be engaged to mobs, other than VERY situational situations (IWing>Myrkr...thats about it)
There's been no difference in our runs. Floor ports can be dickish at times but overall we get good luck and bad luck in equal measures. Having higher clears hasn't made our jumps suddenly be better.
To reliably hit 80 you want to be clearing 15-16 floors per run. If you do then average porter luck, or even slightly worse, should still get you to 80. If you clear 15-16 floors you need to be dicked on jumps one way or the other to not reach 80 (i.e. shit jumps or overshooting).
If you remove voluntary 1 floor jumps then in our last 7 runs we averaged
4.38 / 6.27 / 6.08 / 6.5 / 5.5 / 4.875 / 4.83. So pretty much what you would expect.
But for what what it's worth if anyone wants to look into it. I'm fairly certain all 7 people who have come on our static runs have original Nyzul 100 and 5/7 have Captain. You'd probably have to get someone with non-Nyzul 100 to do your floor jumps to see if there was anything in it (I doubt it). If they still get 9 floor jumps then it's probably just random is random.
There's been no change with us too and we have up to 99 saved on our disk.
Did 3 runs again today.
1st Run. Timed out on 91
2nd Run. Timed out on 60 (Mamool Boss, had so many 2-3 jumps...)
3rd Run. Get to floor 80 with over 5min to spare, get Vamp boss with no weaponskills...........yeah we timed out at 20% (sam war thf drg for dd)
Has anyone had a F80 boss that isn't the Vamp? That's all I've ever personally seen and can't remember anyone reporting an 80 boss that isn't the Vamp.
there isn't anything else in the dats, pretty sure 20 40 60 can be lamia mamool troll (never personally seen 60 lamia though), 80 is vamp, 100 is dvalin (chair guy)
I haven't actually checked the DATs and I'm at work atm. I was just going off someone earlier in the thread saying Vamp/Dvergr/Amnaf for 80/100 and assumed they took it from DATs. I only remembered it due to Amnaf being such a weird third option.
So that's bollocks and wrong then?
On the 20/40/60 bit. Have you ever had the Troll use Headsnatch on 20/40? I've only ever seen it on 60 so was wondering if they have 1 move that is restricted to 60 only. Or different behavior patterns pending on floor or something. Not that it hugely matters as they are pushovers.
Guess I should be more clear.
By properly I mean close to perfect. The Bst we have been taking has max augments on important things(Armada Feet with pet haste+4 and such), a balanced set to TP in that has enough pet haste in it as well, a perfect Ruinator/Reward set. Needless to say, don't use jugs like the bunny and gimp it that way. If you want to know more about that PM me and I'll give you the name, because I honestly can't tell you more than that about it.
It looks like they are going to allow you to set a target floor to reach, 80 or 100 for example, and that will cap your run so you can't ??? jump past your target but you also can't progress further if you clear that floor. It's google translate though so I could be completely wrong.
Introduction of stopper feature
after the invasion, and change it to where you set whether the aim of 20/40/60/80/100 block.
Although you do not need to go any further than a block of purpose, you will not advance to the next block, even if you reach the desired floor, and subdue the Notorious Monsters.
Also looks like they said that they're making it so that if you do a certain boss X amount of times an X exceeds a certain constant, you'll be able to choose a piece of gear or something. I dunno it seemed mangled in translation.
They already said that a few days ago but I think this one says that if you kill, let's say F60, a bunch of times then you can pick an F80 item but I think it says you won't be able to do that with F100 because then everyone would just cap at F80 and do that a bunch of times.
Being able to cap a run is a welcome change, I think it will mean that we cap and aim for 100.
Also makes it a lot easier to hit 80 if you cap it there as you won't need to take singles in the 70's.
