Ok, does anyone bring a BLU to nyzul? My set has a BLU BLM SMN member and out of all those jobs I rather he go BLU... so with that said, can anyone give tips on what spells to set and all that jazz? He doesn't have cdc, but he's up to date on spells I think.

BLU rips through the fodders mobs and provides good utility. I'd suggest standard DD setup, main heavy hitting spells being heavy strike/QC/delta thrust. He should probably merit 5/5 Requiscat with STR swords and an appropriate build. I'd suggest BLU/DNC, haste samba with cheap aoe heal if necessary to wake people and ease of getting around with sneak/invis ability. White wind build is helpful as an aoe cure, so I'd get a build for that. Stick with DW2 on sub and add DA, auto refresh, make sure to have blank gaze set for flayers and a light based sleep such as sheep song. I'm assuming you would run with a SCH so in that case they will have the dark based sleep covered.

Spell set I'd recommend (others can add in if I missed something good):

    Spoiler: show

Benthic Typhoon (DEF down, dont bother to gear for it specifically as it will crunch your inv space needlessly.)
    Quad. Con
    Empty Thrash
    delta thrust
    heavy strike
    sudden lunge
    a spikes
    a wail
    occultation
    white wind
    magic fruit
    actinic burst
    winds of promy.
    battery charge
    blank gaze
chaotic eye (could swap with water bomb if aoe silence is needed, but probably not needed and the -str/vit sucks for QC/others)
    z mantle
    fantod
    sheep song

Swap some spells out to add in TH for TH1(2 w/sash) for boss.

Edit: Make sure he invests in an idle set, refresh/regen for running around a lot. Body + legs(swap to w legs when running and I guess subligar when floor objective complete or when appropriate) + hands/feet + head( if possible, if not its not really necessary to farm) + ring (only good toau one imo!) for refresh is +6 a tick, 7 with auto and 10 with battery charge.

I think I'm more curious as to what job you think is a superior option to taking a SCH.

We used to take a BLU Rehn and it does really well. We only switched him to DRG for a bit more oomph. It has its advantages and disadvantages. BLU makes dangerous Leaders a lot safer for one.

EDIT: I have no idea what spells and stuff he set though. Transmit may be able to fill you in.

    Hi, two questions.

DDx4 SCH SCH or DDx4 SCH COR?

Also, is clipper necessary to hit floor 100? Or has there been reports of groups hitting floor100 without?

COR doesn't touch Embrava, stick with dual SCH.

As Doku said, SCH+SCH. There have been rare reports of floor 100 without clipper, but the program makes a significant difference.

Yeah our group doesnt use clipper, we've hit 100 twice now. We go DRK,DRG,WAR,SAM,SCH,SCH but do take advantage of fillmode / .dats.

We didn't aim for 100 until stopper was in place (although did hit 100 pre-stopper and 100+ a few times)

Since stopper has been in place we've hit 99 > 98 > 83 > 96 > 100 > 88. First 4 are 5 DD 1 SCH, last 2 are 2 SCH 4 DD. I'd say we've been unlucky as the non-100's generally involved a mistake or multiple Nyzul 'Fuck You' moments. But on the flipside I think saying 5 'fails' (some had 80's in) is unlucky is kinda making excuses at that point so I don't know. We'll see if it changes as we do more runs.

Around 35 runs or so. However this has been going since the very beginning of Neo-Nzyul, and a lot of those runs were spent getting our group right / aiming for floor 80. Since they introduced the stopper we just push on to floor 100, and now we nearly always end up getting above floor 90+ every run.

Maybe a more accurate representation for before stopper.

    Aim: Floor 80
    34 Runs (25 Embrava'ed)
    18 FL 80+
    3 100+ (1 100 clear)
Set-up: DRK WAR SAM BLU THF SCH (So weaker than what we go with now as we've repped the THF and BLU with DD + DD or SCH)

Then since stopper has been added I posted above.

EDIT: Basically if you can hit 17-18 clears in a run then you have a chance of 100's (albeit not a massive one). Obviously the more clears you add onto that, the larger that chance becomes. If you can get up to 20 clears then you would need bad porter luck to not get 100. You can do it with less than that but the odds are massively against you.

The unluckiest port luck we have had is: FL 79 + 81 (19 clears) or FL 58 (15 clears)
The luckiest we've been is: FL 106 (17 clears) and then FL 84 (15 clears)

That's just off clears/ports ratio though.

We did F100, 19 clears w/~2-3m left after passing/lotting etc

    Then 3x 20+F cleared and landed on 98, 99, and 100 w/30s left...lol.

Looking at how people are doing portwise from 92+, I would say that it rerolls if it gets a number that would overshoot 100. Or rather it doesn't give you a forced 100 if you would overshoot as basically everyone is reporting shitty ports once they hit 92+. I know the data is incredibly small but you would expect more reports back of direct to 100 ports rather than more reports of falling just short like we're getting.

Also, if you want NM data Byrth then just let me know. I've recorded full details for all of our runs (i.e. FL numbers, objective, mob types on floor + NM's on floors if they were killed)

I'd love any NM data you can give me! The divisions don't work out very well for some reason.

I go /WAR, don't really have curing issues with one SCH nearby and the other at rune. Spell set:

    Spoiler: show
Amorphic Spikes to skillchain with CDC. Your friend could probably drop this for something else.
    Heavy Strike
    Battery Charge
    Blank Gaze
DW3 spells (Animating Wail, Delta Thrust, Quad. Continuum, Barbed Crescent, Mortal Ray, Blazing Bound)
    Sudden Lunge
    Fantod (STP trait)
    Sheep Song
Whirl of Rage (damage and stun when there's multiple fodder mobs)
Benthic Typhoon (def down, tearing through multiple fodder mobs again)
Goblin Rush (skillchain bonus - our other DDs are generally Vere MNKs or Ukon WARs so it's light skillchains all day)
    Magic Fruit
Actinic Burst (light crowd control + auto refresh)
Winds of Promyvion (cheap erasega is sex, auto refresh)
    Cocoon (filler)

White magic restricted floors could get hairy with this setup if you also got an awful NM, Sudden Lunge really helps keep damage taken to a minimum though.

    Thanks Dray/Nyght.

And for another nubby question... do people split their dds on floors such as specific mobs, kill all, and such? or does everyone just kinda do their own thing or do you guys roam together?

We split up for pretty much every floor and only regroup if needed. Nasty NMs, certain leaders (the few that don't die in <20 seconds with 2 DDs), flayer family (ice spikes), but aside from that you can split up without issue.
