Not especially, I just like movies that have something to say other than the immediate, literal story itself. Working out possible metaphors or simply having themes that spill outside of the movie itself; something that you can bring up with someone and have a somewhat substantial discussion about. Like I said, I'll probably still end up seeing it but I just kinda feel like they possibly missed an opportunity to have been more. Of course, I'm only saying this without reading the book or seeing the movie itself, I honestly have no idea where it'll go.

It seems to have fallen into the same trap as Cowboys and Aliens. Taken a silly/fun premise and trying to make a movie far too serious out of it.

Watched it last night and this is pretty much exactly what happened. The first half of the movie is a fun action story with lots of vampire killing, but then it just goes off the rails trying to be like an alternate-history drama.

Don't waste your money. If I hadn't seen it for free i'd be pretty pissed off.

Just got back from this. I had fun with it, but I'm biased as hubby was a main artist on this one.
