I've also only played AC1 and was meh about it, though several of my friends have told me the series greatly improved from 2 on.

Yeah me too. I got tired of the story in AC1 after like two hours but a lot of my friends keep talking about it like it's amazing so I might give the 2nd or 3rd a try.

AC has a "what" story, Dark Souls has no real story. Good games though. Not played Witcher 2 but more than likely best bet if a decent story is what you're after. Gameplay is kind of hit or miss for most peeps though.

The lazy design was my only problem with DA2. And the Felicia Day fan service that came later. I loved the fitein, the voice actors, the story, etc. It's worth playing that game as female Hawke just because the voice actor knocks it out of the park with the snarky responses.

I can understand the problems with the story people had, because it's very much a break from the traditional fantasy story arc. But I really liked that the story was about Kirkwall, and Hawke's family more than Big Bad World Threat #4542532.

Knight's Contract on PS3 is dumb but it's fairly fun and short with a not-horribly-deep plot that is still awesome

Dark Souls has no real story.

I played the whole AC series and enjoyed it. The first one is easily the worst of the series. 2 is the best, 3 was ok then 4 was basically the same as 3 except a shitload shorter.

What do you mean by the story being "What." I didn't find it hard to follow, and if you're saying it's implausible, all games are "what."
