Bungiefan, were you ever on the forum "Sake Bugs and Angels" many years ago? I remember a guy from Alaska who played Guilty Gear on that forum with a name similar to yours.

Yes, I still have that Ah My Goddess forum (sake, bugs, and angels diner) bookmarked, though it appears to be dead. Also, GameCombos, DustLoop, TheGearProject, RomanCancel, and many others. I use this name everywhere, except official FFXI forums since my JP SE ID took that and the POL ID was moved from it.

Pretty sure DustLoop is where I met up with TomAss, C-God and the rest of the Hagerstown crew for those incredible tournaments in Tom's basement back in like 2002-2004. Some of the biggest GGXX tournaments on the east coast at the time.

Those tournaments were fun. I used to ride down there with the Penn State guys.. Quake_II_Best, Guymelef, other names I cannot remember.

I never learned the names of the guys from Pennsylvania. I just remember being woken up by some jackasses from Pittsburgh because they showed up at 8AM the morning of the tournament. Tom's house was pretty small, so I was sleeping on the living room floor... prime spot for them to wake me up after only ending casuals an hour earlier.

Shame, only serious competition I got was having Ferrio visit from Fairbanks (but he was from out of state in Texas as I recall) and bring his joystick. He was at a mugh higher level of play than all but one of my local group, but it gave us motivation to practice. I found an AlaskaGamers forum with GG players, but they were all switching to BB by that time, and my work schedule doesn't work out with most of them.

Bah, new version with new movesets and character properties, and I don't have either console it's on. I like the PS3 controller better for fighting inputs than the 360, and I'm not spending the money on a stick and shipping just to learn to use one. I'm also not putting up with Sony's policies on consumer rights and property to get a PS3 if I could afford the cost of the console at this time. Guess I'm out of the GG community for keeping up with current play this time around. PS1 and PS2 gave me a good long run.

Anyone know where I can find a decent PS2 emulator? Want to start practicing and re-familiarize myself with this game on my laptop since my PS3 is all boxed up.

PCSX2 is pretty much the only one, but I'm not sure if a laptop can get 60fps out of it.

Yeah, another reason why I want to get it running on my laptop. Now I need to find a bios file apparently, any help? Do I also need to find a rom for the game or can I just pop in my copy in the cd drive?

actually, i'd love to know this too lol, i have a legit accent core USA version as well, maybe i can run it on the wii dolphin emulator too.

Googling the name of the bios itself (I forget what it was specifically, SCPH10000 or something like that) should help find it. As for using a disc, one of the plugins that PCSX2 comes with should allow reading from the drive rather than an ISO.

I'd have figured it'd be faster to MAME the game than it would be to emulate a PS2, but I've not touched games of that generation on MAME yet.

Bah. Got the game up and running but the framerate sucks donkey ballz and makes it unplayable. You think MAME would work better?

There was a Naomi emulation of Accent Core for PC somewhere. I think I have it. It was linked on DustLoop briefly before they paired up with AkSys and decided no pirated game links on the site.
