    Recently, Amazon France posted a page for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 on their marketplace. After being contacted by Activision, it was promptly removed. However, French video game site GameBlog reported on the finding before the removal, and was demanded of by Activision to have it removed, but the blog didn’t comply.

    Activision has since disinvited the site from a preview event for the upcoming Transformers: Fall of Cybertron, cancelled all advertising plans for their page, and blacklisted the site as a whole.

    This sounds like a secret that Activision didn’t want uncovered just yet, and it seems they’ve cut all ties with the blog to get that point across.

    Does this point to a confirmation of sorts for Black Ops 2’s existence? While we can’t say for sure, we do know that Activision has confirmed (not surprisingly) that another Call of Duty game would be on shelves this year.

    Treyarch is most certainly working on a new entry in the billion-dollar franchise, but what could it be? Will it follow the Black Ops storyline, or will it branch in a new direction?

    Nerve Software artist Hugo Beyer recently listed work on Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 on his public LinkedIn profile. Surprisingly enough, his public profile has since been removed — or at least hidden.

    Interestingly enough, Nerve Software has contracted artists for Activision games and developers in the past, especially Treyarch (Black Ops developer). In fact, out of the handful of games the company has provided artists for, Call of Duty: Black Ops (the original) was one of them…

    I'm not sure why they are so mad about this, it was kinda obvious the MW team was gonna need this year to finish developing the ever expected MW4, so that a separate team was gonna be needed to make a game in between, cause they can't go a year without releasing this shit.

    I was severly disappointed with MW3 and enjoyed the Black Ops playstyle more. Hoping the 2nd one will have more of that and keep going in that direction rather than what they did with MW3.

    I played it for the multiplayer. I never touch the single player. I don't know if I just want to fuck shit up or I don't have the patience to follow the story and want to do my own thing.

    Earlier this month, Amazon France listed Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 within its store pages. After being contacted by the series’ publisher Activision, the online provider quickly withdrew the page. It seems though, that yet another reputable online store has done the same.

    FNAC, a Portugese and Spanish online market, posted a listing for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 on its main page, coupled with a November release date (exactly the same as the Amazon posting).

    Activision has yet to comment on the situation and has still kept quiet about the next Call of Duty installment that’s expected to hit this November.

    I am more of a Treyarch fan I guess. I only liked COD 4, W@W, and BO. I couldn't stand MW2 or 3. I actually enjoy my two year cycle for COD games.

    I have game ideas that I would like to present and discuss with you all, with the hope of linking this to Vonderhaar at some point. I'd like to stay away from the typical complaints like removing the death streaks or quick scoping pros and cons. I'm aiming for the next big idea for things like a new game type (kill confirmed/drop zone), kill streaks (point streaks/support/specialist), or something else.

    Public Game Type: "Elmination"
    One of my favorite things about playing SnD is how valuable your 1 life is in each round. This is the same thing I enjoyed about playing Socom 1 and 2 back in the day. I'd be interested in playing a game type that was similar to SnD but without the bombs. Make it round based like SnD but only wiping out the enemy team will win you the round. I'd expect it to be pretty campy but it's not necessary a bad thing. I can see it making full use of each map with each corner and hiding spot being used. It would also make it important to use Assassin, Heart Beat Sensors, and Portable Radars. One would have to move about the map very cautiously, making sure to check all their corners.

    My biggest concern is about the amount of possible draws there might be if the last 2 people are just camping in corners. So to resolve this maybe one of the teams are "Terrorists" and the other team would be responsible to eliminating them. You could also have it so a blackbird would activate with say a minute remaining. I would love to see what kind of ideas you all might have.

    Public Game Type: "Breach"
    This one is a little tricky because it would require it's own set of maps. Maybe they could modify the existing maps like they did for the wager matches. This game type requires one of the teams to protect a building and the other team must try to breach and enter it. I imagine the defenders must have something to protect and it's the breacher's job to bust in and take it. Socom used hostages, so maybe CoD can use one of those Enemy Intel laptops from the main story line.

    One of my favorite things about playing infected is trying to hold down one position against the oncoming force of infected, and I can imagine this would be somewhat similar to that. It would probably be best if each player had only one life like in SnD.


    Wager Match Game Type: "King of the Hill"
    This could also be used in a Public Match but I'm hoping they are tweaking the wager matches so they can be used to gain experience and level up. This game type is similar to Free For All with a little twist. The person that is currently leading the room will be shown at all times on the mini map but will also be "glowing" so that their body can be seen through walls. Killing the top guy puts you on the top of the leader board and then you become the one to kill.

    Public Game Type: "Multi-team"
    Borrowing this from Halo would be a lot of fun. I played Halo reach and while I did enjoy it a little bit, it was no where near the same as CoD for me. However, I played the hell out of multi-team. Why enjoy beating just one team when you have the chance to beat 3? Bringing something like this to the CoD series would be a hit I feel.

    Wager Match Idea: Custom Player Camo
    When I think back to one of my favorite multi-player games GoldenEye, I remember enjoying the ability to put a name to a face when we played against each other. I would love to see the next game feature 6 distinctive camos or outfits for each player. Start off the game showing a split screen of all 6 players and the outfit that each are wearing. Sort of like the following diagram

    THE BUZZ: Details regarding Call of Duty: Black Ops 2′s multiplayer and release date have apparently leaked online.
    The following information was first posted on the official Black Ops forums, but was since removed and its cached version made unavailable. The details were then reposted over on Activision’s forums, but were once again taken down, at the moment the cache remains intact.
    The details include information on new game modes, prestige and pointstreak redesigns. A release date of November 6 is also mentioned.
    Leaked Details
    This year, Call of Duty will return with it’s ninth installment with Black Ops 2. As expected it will be following Treyarch’s previous game Black Ops. It’s release date is set for the 6th of November.
    Game Modes
    Escort, a new game mode similar to Search and Destroy however a live player must be escorted to one of three areas (or two depending on the map) without being killed. The match will have rounds, consisting of one life only.
    Drop Zone and Kill Confirmed will return
    Team Defender and Infected will not return
    Pointstreaks
    Will follow from Modern Warfare 3′s system
    Larger emphasis on objectives
    A bomb plant is worth 2 points
    A neutral flag is worth 1, however an enemy flag is worth 2
    flag assist capture is worth 1, a capture is worth 2
    The Specialist Pointstreak has be modified. 2 kills now gets you 1 perk. The 4th kill gets you 2 more perks. The 6th kill gets you 3 more perks. The 8th Kill gets you 4 more perks. You do not get every perk when you reach 8 kills. Perks only become “Pro” when you have them Pro
    RC XD will not return
    Heat vision is a new Pointstreak reward. When you get the required points, you can activate this Pointstreak and your player pulls out a scope and attaches it to your weapon. This scopes main advantage is it’s ability to detect enemies through most walls. Note, the scope can only be attached to primaries not including shotguns
    Item Packages requires 5 points. Fall along side care packages and air drop traps. Features a list of package items only including ammo, mini gun, grenade launcher, rocket launcher, and body armor
    Prestiges
    There will be 15 prestiges
    There will be 50 ranks
    Every two prestiges there is a 5 rank increase
    The final prestige has 90 levels
    ELITE 2.0
    ELITE is being fully incorporated into Black Ops 2
    Combat record has been modified and re-named as ELITE Stats
    There will be a specific lobby for clan matches (new way of leveling clans)
    Clan Tournaments can now be implemented
    Removed
    No MOAB or Nuke
    No last stand
    No death streaks
    No flame thrower attachment
    Map Design
    Map design and size will be following Black Ops not Modern Warfare 3
    Sniper Rifles
    Improved sniper rifle usage.
    No aim assist for any sniper rifle.

    Appearance is a combination of all perks and type of Pointstreak being used.
    Hardcore

    A person will now bleed out if severely injured.

    EGM’s TAKE: That’s an awful lot of details to absorb. Firstly, the new game mode escort actually sounds pretty intense, if you have to physically protect another player then team play will be vital. Also with how quickly you can die in Call of Duty, things will get pretty hectic. Giving more emphasis to objects will also please a lot of fans who are tired of the lone gunman approach that the game usually promotes. Playing as a team will finally be worthwhile. The removal of MOABs and Nukes is both a good and a bad move, players like aiming for something and getting that 25 killstreak presents a major sense of achievement that not everyone gets to enjoy. Although it will mean that camping in one spot won’t get you anywhere. It’s impossible to tell how much truth is behind these details, but the release date seems to tie in with previous games and the changes do actually make some sense. But we’ll have to wait for official word to know for sure.

    Unless they run it like VIP maps in counter-strike, not really the most preferred maps in CS, but def fun when they were on. I remember VIP having 200 health instead of 100, and only carried a USP.

    I see what you're saying here but that would make the whole system completely pointless. Everyone could have both pro perks on their first prestige.
    I'm open to a system where there are different challenges to unlock each tree, but then allowing me to make classes using one side or the other. Limiting my perk options for the rest of time (if final prestige) is just dumb.

    Edit: If I try real hard I can pretend that this is the system they may have been describing. Both options available only to those who prestiged ever.
