BGs starter planet seems to be the same for everyone - me and two others started on the same, and it had clearly been mined and built upon prior.

Yup. I tried to help with this on the first day by moving to a second planet and having people go there instead so the main planet wouldn't be mined so harshly. it helps if when you chop trees to replant it so that way the next people who come by that need to deforest will have something to add.

I will probably make an alt and do that over and over for that planet just to be safe. I'm pretty sure though that if this still works like before that after a little while the game will change the new "starting planet" to be somewhere untouched. It did that before anyways.

there should be a giant forest of trees to the right of the spawn, clearcut and shred them then replant, put them in the furnace, 1000 tree pieces = 100 coal so you can get off planet easily

Ya I started in Single Player to gather some coal/wood. I was used to 1 coal = 1 fuel so I have 100 leftover fuel now hah.

yeah they changed it to 1 coal 2 fuel and upped the other fuels powers as well. shame they took out wood directly, having to wait for it to turn to coal is annoying

Ya, that's what I've been doing. Digging out safe spots. Further in there's pits with lasers and poison.

... this better be worth it. Also, it's literally 20 feet from my starting point on my Home Planet in single mode (wanted to farm some coal before going online).

One of my favorite early ones. You double tap the direction you want to go in and you will go soaring. I think the best you can queue up is 2 with the way the energy bar is.

Not the most useful but it definitely speeds up some exploration.

Also helpful for executing an air dash when you need an extra boost.

And, as I've been abusing, dashing through enemies while slashing your weapon. (you might or may not take damage, and takes some luck to get right when they are dashing at you, paired with some server lag if present)
