Spring 2012 Anime Season

That actually kind of sucks. Their voices are so ingrained in my brain from how good the characters were that those two are all I'm going to see in my mind's eye. Happens every time with Sunohara's seiyuu.

Just wanna throw in my opinions on what I'm watching this season:

Accel World: Interesting premise, can't wait to see where it goes (just watched ep 1).
Fate/zero: Epic as usual, nothing needs to be said. People who aren't already watching this are making the biggest mistake of their lives.
Jormungand: Dat main char. She reminds me a little of Togame from Katanagatari, which is fitting since they are both animated by White Fox. Looks like it's gonna be a fun show.

Lupin III: Holy crap the animation is like nothing I've ever seen, it's beautifully stylistic. I saw Shinichiro Watanabe on the credits roll...makes sense.
Sankarea: I hope this gets as dark as someone above said it did in the manga. So far it's definitely got the makings of it. I really like it so far.
Tasogare Otome x Amnesia: You know, I'm starting to notice a trend of eccentric girls with long black hair. To name a few: Dantalian no Shouka's girl, Yozora in Boku no tomodachi, Vice President in Accel world, Shana, etc etc... Anyway, ghost troll is great troll, love it.

Eureka Seven AO: Oh man this is gonna be good, the original was fun to watch and so is this.
Sakamichi no Apollon: Slice of life + jazz? Sign me up. The fact that it takes place in Kyushu mixes it up a bit, don't see anime representations of the southern parts of Japan very often.
Haiyore! Nyaruko-san: Now this is good comedy. A comedy based on Lovecraft mythos, riffs on Pokemon and D&D and has a veritable crapload of Western-style jokes really. I was very surprised by this, I almost didn't pick it up. Glad I did.

Why does every fucking show this season have to have such great animation and/or comedy? Arrrgh :D No, it's a good thing... I'm just watching EVVERYYYYTHINNNG and I totally don't have time.

I'm maybe more interested as to the plot of this show than any other this season.

Haiyore! Nyaruko-san: Now this is good comedy. A comedy based on Lovecraft mythos, riffs on Pokemon and D&D and has a veritable crapload of Western-style jokes really. I was very surprised by this, I almost didn't pick it up. Glad I did.

I want this video but just the 'Blu-ray box' part for like an hour. Hate the shows MC but love Nyaruko.

I don't mind the MC, he's bland but he's not abhorrent. It's rare enough to get a male MC in shows like this (girl drops in, stays) who actually has a personality so I guess I'm used to it. His fork thing is getting pretty fucking old though.

I don't mind the MC, he's bland but he's not abhorrent. It's rare enough to get a male MC in shows like this (girl drops in, stays) who actually has a personality so I guess I'm used to it. His fork thing is getting pretty fucking old though.

At first I thought the fork gag was kinda clever since trident is the symbol of Nodens, which was the antithesis to Nyarlathotep in the mythos

Then the whole gag just kinda loses its value when the series' depiction of Nodens is on ep 2

Hoooooooooooot. Yuuko is the hottest character I've seen since Maya in Occult Academy. Funny, they're both similar shows too.

Deep. Psychological. Introspective. Budget larger than Avatar. And featuring Ritsu from K-ON!'s brother (not really, but he looks the same and has the same name.)

Hyouka is fantastic. As expected of Kyoto Animation, the animations are out of this world. So damn beautiful. Besides the pretty animations, the duo of Yuichi Nakamura and Daisuke Sakaguchi as the two main male characters was also what I looked most forward to. I loved their work in Clannad and will be enjoying their banters in Hyouka as well.

Eureka Seven AO 2

I'm calling a time travel plot right now, other than being an alternate universe it's the only thing that makes any sense. That being said the show was fantastic again. Bones understands that if you're going to do a sequel/AU story/whatever with essentially all new characters then they have to be likeable and interesting right from the get go. So far the show has enough that is familiar to the original to bring in old fans but also has enough new stuff that it doesn't feel like a rehash. Props to Bones for doing things right so far.
