Dubstep isn't new. Back in the late 80s and 90s we heard that shit all the time. Except when we heard it, it was coming from our broken ass Nintendos giving us shit.
Why did WAR fail?
these are the major reasons I see:
1. it was too pvp-based for the average person. The whole endgame was based on one side being able to defeat keeps all the way to the opposite side's city. This would unlock an instance where all the endgame gear came from. Because of server imbalances this basically meant: one side got to farm the instance every night, while the other side gave up trying to defend and would rather bitch on the forum about how the game sucked versus trying to get organized with other guilds on their side.
2. it was built for large guilds. servers with a large guild always ended up steamrolling those who had guilds with 10-20 people in it because of organization. And most people now want to be in smaller guilds.
3. the instance was the only real endgame, so if you were on the side that was winning you probably got your gear really fast, then had nothing to do (what happened to me and friends). If you were on the losing side, that meant you basically never could get to the endgame in the first place.
(there were some (2?) endgame instances, but the gear from the pvp instance was a lot better)
4. normal shit of not updating bug fixes quickly or releasing content fast enough, balancing classes etc. etc.
Really though their battlegrounds are still my favorite out of any mmo, and I basically had fun doing any kind of role in pvp (healing, tank, dd). I think the classes were extremely well created when it came to that. the whole keep thing was fucking fun too, but I love that kind of shit. Most people aren't big into large scale world pvp
