The wording of the post regarding Neo Ein, says you can't buy the items needed to trade for the feathers, unless that person has the Mark of the Einherjar key item. Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't that only get obtained once you have all 9 feathers? If so, you would still need someone with a full pop to buy the item and then (if you can even...) trade it to someone else for them to collect feathers with?

That seems correct. People would have to invest once in all 9 feathers so that they can spend their Ampuoles to buy feathers in the future.

So if that's the case, I should hold on to my full Odin pop for my ls until after this goes live, so that I can buy the feathers again once available and then have another instant Odin pop. Interesting concept, and I wonder what the 99 Odin fight will hold in store compared to the old 75 cap one.

Mark of the Ein is a permanent KI once you've obtained all 9 feathers at once - You can use the feathers after that and you keep Mark of the Ein.

This is just to make you have to clear each chamber normally once before you can go into superspeed odin2 spam mode.

Ah ok, that clears it up a little. I never have had all 9 feathers at once, always just did one of each tier for my entrance, so that's good to know. So basically it seems that as long as someone has that KI, they can buy feathers at will to do either version of Odin, that's fantastic. Might finally get to get the Valhalla set and n legs with more ease now.

You're either going to need generous people, drop gil for feathers, or get the Mark KI still - even in the ideal case that 3 feathers = can open odin fights, everyone coming to the fight will need 3 feathers to enter as well - sure 1 person *could* buy all those and hand them out, but you'd burn through all the banked ampoules pretty quickly.

Plus side, it's easy enough to clear any chamber with 6 people now - start working on your mark KI's!

Oh I have all the KI's now, just was saying I never had them before and when I got the Mark of the Einherjar KI, I didn't realize it doesn't disappear. A lot of my people in ls have been doing Ein since the days it came out when we were on Unicorn, and we have a few mules we've been using so far so as long as we can swap between them for old Odin, that's ok with me.

Depending how usable your mules are:

If you're decent at 2boxing, DDx3 real, BRD WHM SCH mules

If they're just going to sit there mostly,

DDx2 Real, anything with status cures real, SCH(you can embrava before you afk the mule) + any other 2 mules

If one of your melee is somewhat durable and you're doing a Tier 3 chamber, I'd recommend bringing a SMN mule for PD against the boss (specifically Chairguy + Demon hoard).

On a related note, WARs are excellent in Einherjar thanks to Fell Cleave. MS Fell Cleave with PD up drops the demons quickly.

Cool. I'd like to try this with minimum numbers and I'm pretty sure we'll have the jobs for it. We're just about finished w/my buddies Ukon. I have War, but it's pretty meh. I 2box a whm and I'd say I'm above average at it. We'll give it a shot!

Like some other guy said, it was either a post or email from a couple months ago where he mentioned the Festival and said there will be a special announcement"...but perhaps I've said too much."

Not saying it will necessarily be something awesome (expansion), but it in theory would be something beyond just "hay we've revamped old content."

Given the re-release of Odin, I wouldn't put it past them to do a level 99 Alexander fight.

You could have your feather mules (who have the Mark) buy the missing feather items for the non-mules, the non-mules use the items and get 9 feathers, thereby acquiring the Mark themselves, and then immediately turn around and reimburse the feather mules by buying feathers for them (to be used at a later date as necessary, or to be passed on to the next guy so they can get the Mark, too).

No chamber runs necessary, just pop a few feather items and get the Mark as soon as you gain your 9th feather via feather item.
