I am still a Saints fan. Is anyone really surprised that when the Saints played their home games in Texas, Baton Rouge, and New York that they went 3-13? If you can hear what the offense and defense are calling, you should do better than 12-12 at home. Sounds like more crap.

I will admit to thinking that the Saints did not get the attention they usually deserved, but that was good because they played better as underdogs usually. I am regretting wanted more nation attention now. =/

He hasn't signed it and hasn't shown up for offseason workouts. He doesn't need to sign it until practically right before the season starts to get all the money from it so no reason for him to worry. Saints aren't really gonna get a better QB anytime soon with Brees unless they land a sleeper draft pick that turns into the next Brady. If the Broncos can pay Peyton that much with him not having played for a year, the Saints can pay Brees for pretty much revitalizing that franchise and continuing to playing well.

That and it'd be literally the only good news they could use right now, between the bounty + this recent shit.

I love Cam Newton, no homo, but that team might need about 2 more years thru drafting/FA for me to be legit scared unless they have the best defensive draft this year. Offensively they are set right now, but that other side of the ball is terribad.

I don't see how this news makes the Saints an easier team to beat. During Vitt's suspension we only play 2 division games (Tampa and Panthers) and 1 playoff team (Packers). The coach suspensions will effect them, but the Saints players are still good. We lost virtually no one on offense and upgraded at defense. Of course, we need to see about player suspensions. I think we could easily go 10-6 this year. I am still rooting for the Saints to be the first back to back NFC South champions.

Edit: One of the division games (Tampa) is after a bye as well.

Drew Brees is good, but alot of his success last year can be attributed to the fact he gathered his team for practice to get them prepped during the lockout out of his own pocket. Even if you're a QB as good as Brees, missing all of camp + preseason will have an effect. A bad start isn't unlikely, and the Falcons haven't exactly been conceding the Division last few years. The head-to-head matchups will matter abit more this year most likely but its not impossible or even unlikely for the Falcons to win the division and then the Saints still enter the playoffs you know.

I would be shocked if they do not sign Brees before May 15th. That would be the stupidest mistake the Saints ever made, and yes I am not forgetting about bounty game. Brees will not play under a franchise tag. Last time he did he got injured and only the Saints would take him. Even if he signs a franchise tag and plays this year. He will not play with the Saints the next year. They just restructured 2 contracts to make more cap room, so that makes me think they will pay him what he is asking.

I agree with what you just said. I was simply stating that it not like the Falcons have an easy division win. They will need to fight for it.
