I'm happy with the deal as it has been reported for a late round pick. Can never have enough CB depth in today's NFL.

    Code:
Top 12 CB in Success Rate, 2011 (through Week 13)
Player Team Passes Suc% Yd/Pass	Avg Dist YAC
    D.Revis NYJ 30 73% 3.0 17.1 2.2
    J.Greer NO 63 71% 5.6 11.2 7.1

    C.Gamble CAR 35 63% 6.8 11.7 3.1
Things to note, Samuel gave up less YAC, less Yards per pass, and was targetted more often.

Where are those stats from? The first 12 games of 2011 is a pretty small sample size.

Splitting hairs with those stats anyway.

Also, in 2010 he was targetted only 36 times and came up with 7 interceptions. I can provide more reasons why he's still a great corner (and as of last year, better than Grimes) if you want them.

They're from Football outsiders. The last two games of the 2011 season, the Eagles played the Jets and Dolphins whose receivers did nothing all game (not counting the Redskins/Cowboys games where he either didn't play or Stephen McGee was the opposing QB).

I want to know where those stats came from.

Samuel being a ball-hawk is well documented, the knock on him is he gambles too much for picks and isn't physical in run support.

One more tidbit for today. Here are the stats for two top cornerbacks who did not have enough targets to be ranked above:
    Code:
    Player
    Charted
    Targets	Yd/Pass	Success
    Rate	Avg. Pass
    Distance YAC
    Nnamdi Asomugha 31 5.9 61% 15.4 3.7
    Asante Samuel 36 3.2 78% 15.0 1.9
    From 2010 rankings http://www.footballoutsiders.com/sta...ing-stats-2010

Look, in my opinion (and advanced stats opinions) he's a top 3 corner. He didn't fit the Eagles new scheme, was making too much money, and blocked the opportunity to see what DRC offers.

Interesting. In 2010, Grimes was targeted 111 times(75 more than Asante) and still tied for 3rd in the NFL in YPA(5.0). Grimes is criminally underrated, but if Asante is top 3 like you say, then DREAM TANDEM.

    TRENT
The New York Jets reached out Sunday to Alabama running back Trent Richardson, fueling speculation they will try to orchestrate a blockbuster move to trade up.

Richardson said Wednesday he received a call from the Jets soon after arriving in New York for pre-draft festivities.

"They wanted to know my information as far as whether that's the right number to reach me in case something does happen, with them trading up," he said Wednesday at an NFL community event in Manhattan.

It's common for a team to call potential picks a few days before the draft, but it's unusual to contact a player seemingly out of reach.

The Jets, picking 16th in the first round, are exploring the possibility of moving up for Richardson, according to league sources. But it's a long shot, considering they'd probably have to jump 11 or 12 spots.
