Would have liked to see a value shot at either linebacker or safety.
Kiper is dumb. The Chiefs didn't draft Menzie to be a CB. If he actually did his own research, he would of known that he will be the 3rd safety on the team that's utilized quite a bit in Romeo Crennel's sub packages which often utilizes 6 defensive backs.

Mayock is p cool, but I hate how he overrates DE/OLB's. He had a huge boner for Robert Ayers and Larry English and they both suck (glad SD and DEN took them!).

He'd be a lot better if he didn't put so much emphasis on Senior Bowl performances.

Kiper is dumb, but he owns for the arguments he gets in with the fake suntan man.

If a particular position is thin, even though he may be the 20th best player, he may be drafted tenth because team 13, 15, and 18 hAe a need and would likely take that position.

Flipping it, you wouldn't take the 30th best player in the draft at 30 if he's a 3rd round projection.
Who would have taken him the browns?

That's dumb. Multiple teams reaching for the same player doesn't mean the player is a better value than if only 1 team would reach for him.

If you're right, and Tannehill wouldn't be there at 18, and you take him at 9 instead, you are saying "fuck value, I want the guy" - you shouldn't be praised for good value for that.

    One is enough.

Besides, the Browns would of been up to draft again before the Chiefs had another selection. Denver might of taken him if they were feeling uneasy about Peyton's neck.

Chiefs were rumored to move up, they hosted him for a private workout (as well as buffalo and cleveland) Also, were talking about Tannehill, not Weedon (he's the 28 year old). The chiefs had next shot if Miami passed at 11 (excluding buffalo) although Cleveland had the ammo to move up if they wished.

The Chiefs worked out all the upper QB's they had a shot at.

Tannehill, Weeden, Osweiller, Cousins and a good number of later round QB's. They also scouted Luck, RG3 and Barkley heavily.

Basically it just means even the dude that traded for Matt Cassel knows Matt Cassel sucks.

On a side note, Big 12 QB's are destined to bust.

Whatever, all I wanted was TRENT and some help at O-line and LB. Love the depth picks at DT too, I'm sure Heady will agree John Hughes is a boss and I've always liked Billy Winn. There's still some holes and I fucking hate Brandon Weeden but a solid draft nonetheless.

Just remember to keep in mind that draft analysts, be it espn or nfl network, aren't nfl teams and don't really know where players should go. They are stupid. They will always say player x is #y and whatnot, then amazing players go undrafted and the patriots draft a rugby player. They called the seahawks pick terrible, yet other teams had him going in the first round too.

You know Mel is stupid, we know Mel is stupid. Don't take it to heart. Miami needed to get him, and he was worth to them whatever draft spot they used for him. Be it 8, trading back for him later, or trading up for him if they needed to. He may not have been the 8th or 19th best player, but he was the best available to them. Look at the Jets taking sanchez 5th, its lol but lol.

In any case thank you for reminding me about that pick, it was originally the Browns'. So whenever I get pissed about Weeden at 22, I'll just remember that the alternative was Sanchez at 5.

lol, got a friend who lives out there somewhere and is a huge browns fan. As soon as 3rd pick came in I said "congrats on richardson!" then when the next pick came in I bit my tongue and let him steep for a bit.

^ this. There are like 50+ random people who played NFL's Predict the Pick that did better than the actual people who do mock drafts for NFL and ESPN.

Head of Saints bounty probe submits resignation letter | ProFootballTalk

The move came Friday, at a time when all eyes were focused on the aftermath of round one of the draft and anticipation for the six rounds to come.

Hummel has been running the Saints bounty investigation. He plans to remain on the job until the end of May. It’s unclear whether he’ll continue to work on the bounty case, or when he last had an active role in the investigation.

Speculation obviously will arise regarding any potential connection between the resignation and the bounty probe, especially since the process of implementing discipline on the players has been delayed without any explanation. Discipline was announced against non-players and against the Saints on March 21.

    Lol, plot thickens I guess.

Just to defend that list, NASCAR fans are as fanatical as UK basketball fans. They sell out 100,000+ seat venues weekly, and the viewers meet a key demographic. Linn has, I think, one of the three best selling jerseys.
